The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 630

“There’s just something about her,” Victoria sighed, unable to contain her awe. “Never seen a girl quite so striking.”

Cordelia, who had been busy picking out some solid-color boxer briefs for Ronan on the other side of the store, hadn’t caught a glimpse of the girl in question.

“Am I as pretty as her?” Cordelia asked seriously.

Victoria was taken aback. “That’s strange. You were always so oblivious to your own beauty. What’s gotten into you?”

“Well, I figure anyone who can have old Landon wrapped around her finger must be something special. Plus, now that I know both my parents were actors, I’m thinking I must’ve inherited some good genes,” Cordelia reasoned.

“You’re in the same league.”

“Then she must be a knockout!” Cordelia concluded with a straight face.

Victoria rolled her eyes. “Cordelia, have some humility, will you?”

With their shopping done, the two friends headed out.

The girl they’d been talking about was none other than Daniella.

Daniella walked out of Lumos Plaza carrying a D.K. shopping bag and approached her car. As she remotely unlocked it, she noticed a man standing beside it, blocking her exit with his sleek Phaeton. She felt a pang of guilt; while driving earlier, she’d sensed something was off. Seeing the Phaeton, she hadn’t dared to believe she might have actually scraped it.

“Excuse me, sir,” Daniella asked politely, “could you please move?”

Being called “sir” nearly choked Emerson with indignation.

“Who are you calling ‘sir’?”

Daniella glanced around calmly. “Is there anyone else here? Sir!”

Emerson noticed the shopping bag in Daniella’s hand and recognized the brand—a luxury line of men’s underwear. “For your boyfriend?” he guessed.

“Oh, that’s right,” Daniella replied, thinking sarcastically: Mind your own business.
