Janice had been feeling pretty down in the dumps lately. Harold's dad had called her to vent about the raw deal he got while trying to retire early. Being his spouse, Janice listened, but with them living apart and her unable to help, the frustration just simmered inside her until it turned into a nagging pain in her chest.
When Harold video-called her and saw she was looking glum, he asked, "Hey, what's bothering you?"
Janice knew Harold was about to start an intensive training program and would be out of touch for a while. She didn't want to add to his worries, so she played it down, "Oh, it’s nothing. Just tired from today."
Normally, Harold wouldn't be so worried, but since he was about to go into lockdown training the next day and wouldn't be able to check in, his concern spiked.
He called his dad to get the full story, and after hearing about the unfair treatment at work, Harold understood why his mom was feeling blue. He felt helpless, unable to step in because of his training.
Meanwhile, Daniella, Harold's girlfriend, heard about the situation and thought it was the perfect chance to get on his mom's good side.
After finding out where Janice worked, Daniella decided to pay her a visit.
Cordelia had already tipped off Victoria, suggesting she check in on Janice to make sure everything was okay at home.
So, Victoria also showed up that day, bringing along some calming herbal tea for Janice.
Then, Daniella arrived.
"Who are you?" Janice asked, seeing the attractive young woman.
"Oh, I’m Harold’s girlfriend," Daniella explained with a smile. "Harold was worried about you, so he asked me to come by and see how you’re doing."
"Ah, it’s you!" Victoria chimed in.
Turns out Daniella was the same woman Victoria had bumped into at Lumos Enterprises. With that revelation, Victoria's mind swiftly concocted a master plan worthy of a soap opera.
Daniella recognized Victoria but had no idea she was her rival in love. Hence, Daniella was all sweetness and light, assuming Victoria was just another sisterly figure visiting Janice.
Daniella even thought about asking Victoria to put in a good word for her with Janice.
