The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 82

The Suit Gallery wrapped up the making of these three shirts on a Friday, and Cordelia, reluctant to bid farewell to Brooklyn, took the shirts home.

She hadn't seen Ronan for several days.

As a low-level employee, it was difficult to see the CEO.

Ronan sat on the sofa, scrutinizing her with interest and a hint of anger.

"Back already?" Ronan asked her. "Where are the shirts you bought?"

Cordelia took out the shirts from her canvas bag.

One look, and Ronan knew that these were custom-made from Dubai. She hadn’t even changed the packaging, a clear sign of her feelings for him.

"You've put on weight." Ronan remarked while looking at Cordelia's chubby face.

She had regained the weight she lost when she was sick.

"What?!" Cordelia immediately touched her face, exclaiming in panic. "I put on weight? How's that possible?"

Ronan snickered. "Why wouldn't it be? You're always gobbling down junk food."

"What?!" If she knew she would gain weight, she wouldn’t have eaten so much. The food outside was more to her taste, while Janice's cooking was too bland.

"Did you finish reading that book?" Ronan narrowed his eyes and asked Cordelia again.

"Book? What book?" Cordelia blinked, thinking that he couldn’t possibly know about the book Jamie wrote. Could he? Was he just messing with her?

"It's the book on financial cost management."

Cordelia heaved a sigh of relief, so he wasn't talking about The CPA Success Blueprint. She replied. "It's a textbook; it's impossible to finish it so quickly. It takes time."

Ronan smirked; he could see the guilty look on Cordelia's face.

"Oh, by the way, do you want to try on the shirts I bought for you?" Cordelia said as she took out the three shirts from a fancy bag.

"How much did each cost?" Ronan asked.

Cordelia held up two fingers.

"Two thousand?"

Cordelia didn't answer and just smiled smugly.

Ronan was familiar with this brand; he used to order custom-made shirts from Dubai, each costing seven to eight thousand dollars. He figured that frugal Cordelia wouldn't have bought them.
