The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 96

After work, Ronan got home and was having dinner with his family when he received a message from his assistant: [Mr. Evans, your wife had no particular incidents during her school days. She had a well-known relationship with Logan. They were once voted as the number one 'Top 10 Couples' on the campus forum. If Logan were still alive, they would probably be married by now. Also, Cordelia only sent her resume to Lumos Enterprises after graduating, which might be related to Logan.]

After reading the message, Ronan quietly put down his phone, not uttering a word throughout. Their first sex also had something to do with Logan.

Cordelia was chatting with Barney about an animal rescue station, a topic Ronan wasn't interested in.

After taking a shower, Cordelia stood in the bedroom, wiping her hair and reading a book at the same time. Ronan watched her coldly, thinking she had the composure and elegance of a well-educateds woman. The sexiness she exuded when reading had nothing to do with her body, but it moved him.

By the time Cordelia's hair was dry, she had also finished a chapter of her book.

"It's so cold." Cordelia crawled into the warm quilt and sighed.

"Did you feel this cold in school?" Ronan, who was reading a book next to her, asked calmly.

"Hmm." Cordelia lay in bed, looking at the ceiling, "How come I never felt cold in school?" Back then, she was always looking forward to her date with Logan the next day, then she would fall asleep sweetly.

"What made you not feel cold?" Ronan asked again.

Cordelia thought for a while, but didn't tell him the truth. She simply answered, "Maybe because the dormitory was small and there were many people. With everyone chatting at night, you wouldn't feel cold."

"What did you do during the day?" Ronan suddenly became interested in Cordelia's school life.

" I went to class during the day. Life was monotonous, you probably wouldn't be interested." Cordelia never mentioned Logan. Perhaps it was a hurdle she couldn't get over, so she always avoided the topic.

"What did you do when you were with Logan?" Ronan suddenly asked. His tone was calm, as if he had casually brought it up.

Although it had been a while since Logan's incident, Ronan didn't want to mention it. But he did anyway.

Cordelia was at a loss for words. She didn't understand why he brought up Logan out of the blue. The name pained her. She remained silent.

Ronan glanced at her, only to see her staring at the ceiling, lost in thought.

"Have you guys ever done this?" Ronan set down his book, turned to her, and passionately kissed Cordelia. His hands were busy undoing her nightgown.

Cordelia was momentarily confused. She couldn't tell whether the man in front of her was Logan or Ronan. She wrapped her arms around Ronan's neck, looking incredibly tender.

Kissing him was usually a joyful affair for her. Even though she was the one initiating, she was never this soft and tender.

Until Ronan lifted his body and stared at her sternly, "I'm not him!"
