When Cordelia went to see her mom, Trina told her a big news. A few days ago, Shelley's pinky finger twitched a little.

"Are you for real?" Cordelia was over the moon. After all, her mom had been bedridden for six straight years, and this was the first sign of movement. "You sure you didn't see things?" Cordelia asked. She was skeptical and needed a more solid confirmation.

"How could I have gotten it wrong?" Trina replied, "I've been caring for patients for ages, I know the difference between peripheral nerve death and a reflex." As she spoke, Trina continued to wipe Shelley's hand.

"Thank you, Trina." Cordelia’s eyes welled up with gratitude. Her faith in her mom's recovery was all thanks to Trina's care.

"No big deal, it's my job." Trina reassured, gently patting Cordelia's head.

In the afternoon, Cordelia and Brooklyn went to Brooklyn's sister's place in Sunnydale Meadows on Peace Avenue, a posh residential area.

The door was opened by Edwin.

"Why are you dressed like that?" Edwin was surprised at Cordelia's student outfit.

Cordelia just laughed it off without answering.

To make Brooklyn shine brighter, Cordelia intentionally downplayed her own appearance today. Compared to Brooklyn, Cordelia looked plain Jane.

Brooklyn dropped by her future in-laws' place under the pretense of visiting her sister. Edwin's parents had a good impression of her, which made her quite happy.

Edwin seemed a bit down and didn't talk much.

After leaving Edwin's place, Cordelia and Brooklyn took a stroll around the bright neighborhood.
