Belinda didn't object and nodded without enthusiasm. "Yeah, whatever."

Chase glanced at her. "What's up? Disappointed about not having lunch with your boyfriend?"

Belinda rolled her eyes at him. "If I say yes, will you cancel the meeting so Jacob can come have lunch with me?"

Chase grinned. "Nope."

Belinda glared at him. "Then why did you ask?"

"I was just trying to score a chance."

Belinda was at a loss for words; this man was relentless.

What a nuisance! She had finally decided to stop being so obsessed with love, only to have this guy mess it up.

"Cough! I'll call Ellinor first and see what she wants to eat."

Feeling awkward and at a loss for words, Belinda took out her phone to call Ellinor. The call went through, but no one picked up for a long time.
