The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 1348

Upon hearing his girlfriend's words, Jacob felt a bit helpless. He hesitated for a moment before responding, "Alright, I'll head back to work first. Don't forget to call me when you get home, okay?"

Belinda nodded. "Sure, I'll call you as soon as I get home."

Jacob hugged Belinda, looking a bit reluctant to let her go. He shot a deep glance at Chase, then turned and left, hopping into a taxi.

Belinda felt a bit stiff from the recent hug with her boyfriend. She and Jacob had been dating for quite a while, but there was never any intimate contact between them. Every time Jacob tried to get close, she would instinctively pull away. It was not because she didn't want to seriously date Jacob. She truly believed that Jacob was a good guy. But for some reason she couldn't quite put her finger on it; she just couldn't accept Jacob's intimacy. It felt awkward.

She was snapped out of her thoughts by Chase's voice.

"Hop in. The evening breeze is a bit chilly."

Belinda came to her senses and looked at Chase. She saw his beautiful eyes and then subconsciously dodged his gaze. She nodded in acceptance of his kindness, got into his car, and sat in the back seat.

Chase didn't sit back in the front seat but joined her in the back.

Belinda felt a bit uneasy seeing Chase sit with her in the back. But when she noticed Ida sitting in the front passenger seat, she felt slightly better.

However, Ida seemed to understand their feelings and raised the partition between the front and back seats, not wanting to disturb them.

Belinda was speechless. She suddenly regretted getting into this car.

Chase sensed Belinda's discomfort and chuckled. "Why so nervous? I'm not going to eat you."

Belinda laughed awkwardly. "I'm not nervous; I'm just worried about my uncle."

Chase subtly moved a bit closer to her. "Really? Not because of me?"
