CHAPTER 39: The Bigger Wolf
SHE WENT BACK to her usual self where she kept on ignoring Alpha Karius again. Days had passed and their last conversation didn't really turn out well and Lilian thought that it's better to distance herself from him for now since he's just bringing up the topic about their child.
Aside from that, she wouldn't deny the fact that the sexual tension between them became thicker now that she already marked him. Her wolf is always craving for him and before her own body betrays her again, she chooses to just ignore him. Heck, she wouldn't like to appear like she's the only one who's thirsty for sex!
"Good morning, Luna. You haven't eaten your breakfast yet, so I brought you food," Nadia suddenly said when Lilian was in the garden, sitting on the round table. She's just staring at the wide garden in front of her, feeling the cold breeze of air, relaxing her mind, hoping that her greeny thoughts about Alpha Karius suddenly disappear.
"Did I tell you to bring my breakfast here?" Lilian asked as she arched her brow while looking at Nadia. Well, she didn't really order the helpers to give her food there so she's actually surprised that Nadia is bringing it to her now.
"I-I'm sorry, Luna." Nadia bowed her head a bit and immediately trembled on Lilian's tone. She gulped and was about to get the tray but Lilian sighed and stopped her.
"Nevermind. Put it back here." Lilian gestured her head a bit to make her put the tray in front of her again, so Nadia immediately obliged. "Sit down. You can have the food. I only want the coffee." She gets the coffee on the other side of the tray and sip on it. The taste is surprisingly good. It's not too sweet and not too bitter for her liking. She likes the creaminess of it, too. She held the mug, feeling the heat as she looked at Nadia.
"B-But, Luna... it's not really appropriate to sit on one table with you. Sorry, but I can't do that." Nadia slightly shook her head, still trembling.
"You haven't eaten your breakfast yet, right? Eat it." She commanded again and used her most authoritative tone. It was enough to intimidate her.
"Luna..."
"I don't want to repeat myself. I'm ordering you to sit down and eat the food," she said, more firm and authoritative this time.
Nadia gulped at Lilian's tone as her head is now filled with confusion. Why would the Luna even bother to ask her to eat the food for her? It doesn't make sense. And besides, Nadia knew how Lilian disliked her so badly after what she did in the past.
Nadia had no choice but to sit down on the chair just in front of Lilian. She was hesitant at first but Lilian looked at her with her arched brow so she had no choice but to follow her.
Lilian was just sporting her emotionless face as she sipped on her coffee as Nadia started eating the food that she prepared slowly since she's really uncomfortable eating with the Luna. This is not right, Nadia thought.
"You're the one who told Alpha Karius how I treat all the helpers in the mansion?" Lilian started to talk as she stared at Nadia who suddenly stopped from eating. Nadia paled instantly. Of course, she needed to tell everything that's happening inside the mansion to Alpha Karius. He asked her to report sometimes to him and always ask for Lilian. She would report every detail to him.
But it seems like Lilian didn't like it so Nadia couldn't help but to feel scared even more. "I'm sorry, Luna! I'm sorry!"
"Tss." Lilian just rolled her eyes. She slightly smirked looking at how Nadia looked at her with her scared expression right now. She never knew that the strict helper that she knew before could be really like this.
"I'm really sorry, Luna. D-Do you want me to stop reporting everything to Alpha Karius?"
"Hmm. Maybe. I just want you to do something for me instead." She slightly shrugged her shoulders a bit as she sipped on her coffee again.
Nadia straightens her back, as if she's really ready for what Lilian is about to say. "What is it, Luna? I'll do it if I can," she said with her most determined tone.
