CHAPTER 50: The Revenge
THE HELPER WAS crying so hard as she led Lilian and the others to the direction where she found the dead body of Fina. The body was found in the backyard where they put the garbage bags.
The place was stinky because of the smell of garbage but what's more disgusting is the... messy body of Fina. Lilian almost pukes at the sight of the lifeless body of Fina lying on the ground. Her heart has been clawed from her chest, it's really impossible for her to live anymore and some of her organs are scattered just beside the body. Her eyes are also wide open and her tongue is stuck out. Her blood is also splattered on the wall. It was as if someone who did this to her is a monster.
She clenched her jaw when she remembered Clarine's dress and the familiar scent on her again. She sighed as the realization hit her. But then... No, it's not right to just suddenly jump to conclusions. She can't just point her fingers to anyone easily.
"Gather everyone here in the mansion and tell them I have something important to say," Lilian told the helper seriously as they both went back inside the mansion.
Seconds later, the helpers and guards are now in the hallway and bowed down at her as a sign of respect. Lilian made sure that she's sporting her most formal face that will surely intimidate them. The atmosphere is kinda heavy since she's sure by now, they already found out about Fina's death.
"I know the death of Fina, one of the helpers here in this mansion, has already reached all of you..." Lilian started. "At this moment, I want to investigate what really happened. And for your information, I won't tolerate anyone here if I found out that one of you is the one who's responsible for Fina's sudden death. Now, tell me where you were before we found his body..."
They were all uneasy at first and suddenly scared because of the aura of Lilian but then they still managed to talk after that. The wolves told Lilian about their alibis and what they were doing before they found out about Fina's death one by one. She clenched her jaw multiple times, how frustrating it is knowing that their alibis was all making sense. She couldn't just pinpoint if they are telling the truth, or not. If only she had the ability to read minds...
"L-Luna, aren't you going to ask Clarine, too?" One of the wolves asked hesitantly. It was obvious that she's scared but she still managed to ask her that.
Lilian looked up at the room where Clarine is currently staying. Clarine immediately went there after she called all the helpers and guards of the mansion. She didn't bother calling her anymore since she's being considerate on her trauma.
But then she couldn't help but to speculate. And the neckline of her dress... It's possible that it was blood but she wasn't able to sniff it properly since the scent of the steak she was eating was more strong.
This only means one thing. She needs proof. She needs to observe Clarine's every move just to make sure if she's really hiding something under her sleeves. There's a possibility that she could be the one who killed Fina...

ALPHA KARIUS WENT back to his mansion as soon as he found out about Fina's death. He was welcomed by Clarine's hug, making him gasp a bit. He didn't expect that! He was caught off guard and doesn't have the courage to push her away since it may only cause her stress. He's not comfortable with her hug but he still endured it.
"F-Fina is dead, Alpha Karius. We found her body at the back of the m-mansion!" Clarine cried on his chest and buried her face there. He had no other choice but to lift his hand and tapped her back a bit, comforting her when her cries became louder.
Meanwhile, Lilian was actually shocked by what she saw just a few meters away from her. She doesn't want to think bad about Clarine but... how could she hug her mate like that? She did it just in front of her! It was a disrespectful move towards her as the Luna and the mate of the man he's hugging. Lilian tried so hard to stop herself from clawing her off from Alpha Karius and just sighed deeply.
Something is really not right here. Clarine is not like her usual self.
Alpha Karius looked at Calyx who just came inside. "Calyx, investigate what happened," he commanded with his alpha tone. Calyx just nodded and immediately went to the place where they found the body.
Seconds later, he looked at Clarine again and Lilian couldn't believe how gentle his gaze was towards her! Wow. Right in front of her! His mate! Is he doing it purposely? Lilian is not sure anymore as her hand suddenly balled into fist. Heck, it feels like she will die in jealousy at this moment!
"I'll take you to your room, Clarine. You need to rest," Alpha Karius almost whispered to her and Clarine just nodded as he let her guide her gently.
Lilian was hurt, of course! He's still ignoring her like she's not existing at all. She watched how he held Clarine like a fragile crystal as they both made their way to her room. He didn't even bother to look back at Lilian. She's his mate! Why can't he just look at her?! No, this is not happening...
After a couple of seconds, Alpha Karius went down and Lilian decided to talk to him this time. She can't stop herself anymore. They both need to fix their issues.
"Alpha Karius..." She called his name when he's about to head to the entrance of the mansion.
He looked at her without any hint of emotion in his eyes. "Yes?" His brow arched a bit like he was taunting her. But she won't back down this time! She tried to not look down and just meet his intense gaze.
"Can we talk?" She finally asked her.
"Sure, what is it?" He shrugged his shoulders.
Lilian wanted to sigh in so much relief at his answer. "Uh... Is Clarine okay now?" She asked instead, an idea suddenly came to her mind.
"Not really sure about that. As you can see, after she almost got attacked by the rogue, her mental health has been affected so badly."
