Gawking at the unfamiliar figure gazing down at her, Alexandra glances around embarrassed.
"I'm sorry was asked to deliver this to your room"
Without saying a word, Alexandra steps away from the door and the chubby lady enters, serving her meal and leaving, Alexandra slams the door, feeling ashamed.
"That must be crazy. What was I thinking?" She laughs. "This is all Nathaniel's fault, how could he tell a stranger to bring food to my room when I thought we are eating together"
Striding towards her food, Alexandra nibbled on her food, a part of her ecstatic that she was alone and without having to hear Nathaniel talking while another part of her was bored and wanted him to come over so they would eat and drink while chatting. Although her hand itched to go to his room and knock, Alexandra found it a little wild and a wrong move since they were not officially married. Lost in thoughts, a soft knock comes on the door and she rolls her eyes wondering why the waiter had forgotten that she had to return without informing her.
The knock comes on the door again, this time a little louder than the first sending Alexandra's feet up from the ground, striding towards the door, she flings it wide open exposing Nathaniel standing by the doorstep, looking strikingly handsome as his face glows. Alexandra glances behind him trying to see if he was with someone.
"Are you here?" she states, staring into his eyes and he stares back for a long moment in silence.
"Are you going to stand there gawking or are you going to let me in?"
Without uttering another word, Alexandra steps aside and he enters, she joins him, shutting the door. He glances around and realizes she was still hungry.
"I thought you were starving"
"Of course I am, what did you think I was doing?"
"I don't know that's why I asked"
Lowering to the ground, Alexandra takes a chicken and begins chewing it.
"This is so tasty that I didn't even think of you" she states in between bites and Nathaniel stares at her, a smile creeps on his face
"Oh yeah, well that's not what I heard"
"What did you hear?"
"That you mistook the waiter for me" he states causing her to burst into laughter
"That's ridiculous! Where did you hear such an absurd thing from?"
"Does it matter?"
"I never did such a thing. In case you don't know Mr. Alpha, the world doesn't revolve around you"
"What then does it revolve around?" Nathaniel lowers to her height, his eyes still firmly locked with hers.
"I don't know"
"Chicken" He whispers, wiping the sauce stain by the corner of her lips with his index finger. "I didn't take you as a lover of chicken and I never said the world revolves around me except of course you want it to" He winks at her and she scoffs.
"How arrogant! You are so full of yourself. Is it because you're the Alpha"
"I will answer that if you agree to come with me to my pack"
"You still at this"
"I don't give up"
"Why?"
"Because I'm an Alpha and I'm a man trying to get his mate to his pack"
"How many women have you wooed with your lines?"
"None"
"I don't believe you"
"Why?"
"You look the lady's man"
"Aren't you a little too quick to judge me? I mean you don't know me"
"Exactly" She lowers the chicken to the plate and wipes her hand "I don't know you at all, just follow the rumors"
"How will you know me when you don't want to get close? Come with me to my pack and I promise that you will know everything about me"
"I don't want to"
"Why? Is it still about what I said about the marriage? Are you still mad at me? I already apologized"
"When?"
"While you were sleeping"
Alexandra scoffs. "Does that count? I didn't hear you and how am I sure you truly apologized"
"Alexandra!" He raises his voice
"What? Do I look like a fool in your eyes? Do you think I'm easy?"
"What are you saying? I would never think of you as such. We came to spend time together and if not because of the rain and our car got stuck in the mud, I wanted to take you to a place with colors and lights. Somewhere beautiful"
"Why? Do you pity me?"
"No, I know that you will love it and it will bring a smile to your face and I wanted to see you smile"
"How many women have you brought there and don't you dare say none"
"Why do you choose to believe that I have a thing or two with women"
"You are an Alpha. I'm sure some ladies in your pack are eyeing you. Don't tell me you don't have the hot for anyone"
"Maybe some ladies throw a peek at me I don't know, I haven't noticed since I'm too busy trying to convince you to come to my pack"
"Don't try and change the subject, it won't work. I'm not those submissives mates who end up getting betrayed by their mates"
"I can tell you are not some submissive female mates"
"I love to challenge and I certainly don't back down from a fight" she stands up
"So you will challenge me and fight me"
"If you try to step on my toes or perhaps try to tie me down or turn me into your puppet"
"Why will I do that?"
"Don't act so self-righteous"
"Why will anyone do that to their mate? That's absurd. I know some people may think that this whole mate thing is a little old-fashioned but it isn't because for me is the best way to find your true partner"
Observing him closely, Alexandra could see he was telling the truth and although she was fighting so hard to find fault in his words, it was genuine and kind. Deep down she knew he was different from Adam even without having to observe him, maybe she had always known this right from the first day they met at the river. But Alexandra had made herself blind to the truth even while it stared down at her, her revenge against the people who had hurt her has made her blind to a lot of things.
"That's your problem to bear. Remember what I told you, I can't be subdued, and neither can I be tamed, I'm not one of those female Alpha who doesn't know they're left from right, I stand my ground Nathaniel so you better be prepared"
"You sound as though we are going for a combat"
"What?" Alexandra's eyes widened, she had not executed such a remark
