"Even though this guy has a mask on and no one knows which clan he comes from or what skill level he's at, there's no way he'll be able to face Randall. With Randall's skills, he's probably firmly at the level of a top fifteen warrior in the Whirling World.
"Anyone who's able to stand at the top twenty would be very famous. There's no way anyone with that skill would do something like this, and there's no way they'd hide how they look as well! So, this guy is definitely a weakling whose only talent is bragging! There's no way someone insignificant like that would be so suicidal.
"We thought there was something wrong with his head before this, but he spent twenty million spirit crystals betting on his opponent, winning a million and two hundred thousand in one go. How could someone like that be stupid? Instead, he's probably someone quite intelligent. There's no way someone like that would be suicidal. So, Percy must be sure that the guy will regret it. That's why he did this."
A green-robed man continued to say, "His arrangements sound like he's granting the guy a way out, but it's actually a brilliant plan. If it's not a draw, then no one knows what kind of beast will show up in the next battle. It's all down to the rules and how strong the next beast is.
"Everyone only gets one chance to challenge it. The moment they win, they'll be able to get Life Points for treasures. He doesn't want Randall to squander Randall's only chance at the Capture Hall. It's better to not attack that guy at the start, and use some of his power against the beast. After the beast dies, then the brat dies! That way, he'll be able to get Life Points and deal with the crazy man. It's the best plan."
The green-robed man's analysis sounded very logical. Percy really had been thinking along those exact lines. After considering all the factors, that was the best plan. At that moment, everyone was waiting for the masked man to make the final decision, to see if he would actually fall for it.
Fane sighed in exasperation, looking at Percy who was glaring right at him. He suddenly felt like he did not know what to say. He did not want to listen to Percy's nonsense anymore. He decided to just stand up and walk to the registration area.
As he walked, he said without even turning his head around, "Do you think I'm stupid? Show me mercy? Don't you think that's a joke? Weren't you afraid that I would regret things? Your petty tricks will only work on people like you! Others aren't as easily fooled as you are."
Fane walked very quickly. Under everyone's widened eyes, he arrived at the registration area and wrote his name down quickly. At that moment, everyone was stunned. Was that guy for real? He really thought he could defeat Randall?!
They had thought that Fane would definitely go back on his words, but Fane had proven that he was that confident in himself! If he was just putting on an act to that degree, then there was nothing else they could say. Even Percy was stunned. Everything that guy did was completely unexpected!
Randall frowned and said, "It looks like there really is something wrong with this guy's head. We were overestimating him before this. However, since we've already said everything, there's no way we can take our words back. Since this guy's already signed up, then let's do as we said. We'll only deal with him in ten seconds!"
Percy nodded. Rowan said excitedly, "I want to sign up too!"
