A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 250

Since Matilda remained level-headed and didn't let her emotions cloud her judgment, her friends breathed a collective sigh of relief. There's nothing worse than gearing up for a confrontation, only to have the person you're defending go soft and cave at the first sign of trouble. It's like they're asking for it, right?

Luna uploaded the video at lightning speed, and Colleen didn't even have time to intervene.

Hala stepped up to her, pinching a wad of cash from her wallet. "Here, take this and get your son's head checked out. He's from a reputable family, yet he behaves like a mongrel."

The bills fluttered in front of Colleen, the facade of the high-society lady shattered as she trembled with rage, yet unable to lash out in front of Cyprian.

Damn it, there was a relative of Cyprian among them!

Colleen clenched her fists tightly, vowing inwardly that one day she would see Matilda's downfall. It was because of her that her son had become what he was now!

"Well, if that's the case, I trust you'll handle this fairly," Baxter emphasized, "We've given our statements; if there's nothing else, we'll be on our way."

The officers exchanged glances, unsure what to do. They couldn't release Mason while Cyprian was still there. But keeping him might offend the Farrell family!

As Orson wrapped his arm around Matilda to leave, he bumped into Yvan's shoulder. The man stepped back, grabbing Orson's arm fiercely. "Let go."

Orson ignored the command.

"I'm warning you, stay away from her!" Yvan's voice was a low growl of icy anger.

But Orson turned and said, "Yvan, when she needed you the most, all you gave her was disappointment."

That struck a nerve, and Yvan's heart seemed to crumble. He stared wide-eyed at Matilda, noticing her disheveled dress and the traces of a struggle, imagining her desperation.
