A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 324

Matilda kicked off her new job and, in this brand-new city, she and Chloe were back to square one, starting from scratch.

Leaving behind their past with Yvan and Declan, they were captains of their own lives now, no longer subject to anyone's dictates or forced into decisions. Chloe, in her downtime, strutted down runways and graced magazine covers, while Matilda holed up at home, diving into the world of coding and big data. She had recently developed a fascination for the engineering behind code—how those crisp, straightforward combinations of numbers could calculate so many formulas, keeping the digital world spinning. It was nothing short of magical.

Chloe joked that Matilda should consider becoming a hacker, "With your skills, you could be cracking bank vault codes in no time."

Those who could design also boasted smart minds. Matilda's imagination soared with the endless possibilities of numbers, pushing her to delve deeper into their secrets. She even went as far as purchasing a set of beginner's materials on software programming, spending her days buried in study.

Returning home from a photoshoot, Chloe found Matilda still engrossed in her studies. Godfrey emerged from the kitchen with a laugh, "How did it go today?"

"Whoa," Chloe started, taken aback, "Put down the kitchen knife before you scare me to death."

Godfrey chuckled, "Oh, come on, I wouldn't use it on you. This knife is my life."

"You're obsessed! Why don't you just sleep with it then?" Chloe mocked as she swapped her shoes by the door. "What's for dinner?"

"We've got creamy seafood pasta, cheesy garlic escargots, and shrimp omelet."

At the mention of the dishes, Chloe's eyes lit up, "You're a godsend."

Pretending to be coy, Godfrey quipped, "So, will you take me home with you? I'll take care of you every day."

"Deal! Deal!" Chloe playfully tossed a tomato at him from the coffee table, "Consider it gold and silk as your reward!"
