A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 330

Keaton and Carl could immediately sense that Yvan was on the verge of a breakdown. Exchanging a look, they both sighed. Keaton reached out and gave Yvan a gentle pat on the shoulder. Yvan had lost a significant amount of weight recently. Lowering his voice, Keaton said, "Yvan, it's time to move forward. Matilda... she has her own life to live."

The message was clear: Yvan needed to stop bothering Matilda.

Yvan remained silent, his eyes dark and void of any warmth, turning into a blank stare that seemed to see nothing at all.

After Keaton and Carl left, Yvan was alone in the hospital room, feeling as if the entire world had deserted him. He could hear his own breathing, echoing in the silence as time seemed to freeze, heavy and slow...

Yvan didn't speak, his silhouette stiff as a gravestone, sitting on the hospital bed for what seemed like an eternity.

Then, a soft sound broke the silence—a tear fell onto the back of his hand.

...

The next day, Chloe went to Godfrey's hotel. As soon as she walked in, she heard the sound of high heels clicking aggressively on the floor. "So, I heard we've got a new hotshot parachuting in from above? Where are they? Let me have a look!"

Chloe stood by Godfrey's side, surprisingly choosing not to engage with the woman but merely smiled. "Godfrey, who is she?"

The heir to the corporate empire, Godfrey, looked genuinely puzzled before honestly replying, "A company employee."

Chloe almost laughed at his obliviousness. She had almost forgotten that this heir was more interested in being a chef than corporate politics.

Just then, a front desk clerk approached them, greeting, "Ms. Chloe, right? Please, come with me to complete the paperwork. Good morning, Mr. Godfrey."
