A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 353

"Is that you, Logan?"

Plunged into darkness, Matilda struggled to wake up, but she was powerless, so weak that even moving felt like a luxury.

But she thought she heard her son's voice, crying and calling out to her.

What's wrong with Logan? Why is he crying?

Matilda felt like she was in an abyss, surrounded by silence. Occasionally, she could hear a few fragmented syllables carrying a heartbreaking cry—it was Logan, she was sure of it!

Logan was crying. He didn't dare to hold Matilda's hand, her body entangled with wires and tubes, a catheter around her neck connected to an IV drip, slowly feeding her body drop by drop.

Logan's tears wouldn't stop. His mom must be in so much pain. He couldn't cry; he had to be the man of the house, especially now. But if it was just him and his mom, who was he supposed to protect if she was gone?

Without Matilda, there was no home...

Yvan couldn't bring himself to approach his son. He was afraid that if Logan knew Matilda got hurt protecting him, the boy would hate him even more.

But Logan broke the silence, "Why is my mom like this?"

Yvan was speechless, unable to utter a single word under Logan's questioning gaze.

"Tell me, I have the right to know!"
