A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 499

On the second day, Matilda was up at the crack of dawn to check out. As luck would have it, she bumped into Criss next door just as he was sleepily fumbling with his hair to open his door. The man flashed her a sleepy smile. "Were you the one staying next to me last night?"

"Yeah." Matilda pointed at Criss's face. "You've got something on your face."

"Oh..." Criss yawned and casually wiped his face. "Where? Here?"

Matilda directed, "A bit below your eye, to the right."

Criss kept searching but couldn't find anything. After a while, seeing the mischievous smile playing on Matilda's lips, he finally caught on. "You're pulling my leg!"

"Ha, just checking if you've sobered up from last night." Matilda laughed. "Looks like you weren't as hammered as you thought."

Criss glanced at her. "Was I that bad last night?"

Matilda nodded and then headed towards the elevator. "I'm going to check out. What about you? Coming with me to Whty City?"

"Let's go, together."

Criss also went back into his room to grab his suitcase. "Perfect, I've been missing that little rascal Logan."

"He's been feasting behind our backs with Godfrey."

Matilda chuckled lightly. Just then, the elevator doors opened, and they both stepped in, pressing the button for the ground floor. The elevator began its slow descent.

"Didn't forget anything, did you?"

Just to be safe, Criss reminded Matilda to check. "Better check again."

"I didn't bring much over, just a handbag and my phone."
