A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 527

Logan and Orson emerged from the bathroom together, and upon seeing them, Matilda couldn't help but chuckle. "What have you two been up to?"

Logan flashed a sweet smile, effortlessly coming up with an excuse that seemed flawless. "Just had a shower with Uncle Orson."

He still referred to Orson as "Uncle" in public, a habit from the past that he couldn't shake off. However, in private, that term was something he'd never bring up again.

Orson's eyelashes fluttered, and then he said, "Thanks for letting me crash here."

His words made him sound like a stray dog without a home, but Matilda's response was light-hearted. "No worries, just use the front door next time, okay? Don't scare me half to death by magically appearing in my bed when I wake up."

Orson simply nodded, "Seeing a bed just makes me want to sleep."

Matilda remembered his uncanny ability to fall asleep instantly.

When Godfrey heard they had a new guest, he went the extra mile with dinner preparations. It was New Year's Eve, and the air was thick with joy and celebration. Orson's arrival meant setting an extra plate at the table, but it also brought more life to the gathering. Eugene and Criss looked Orson up and down before turning to Matilda with curiosity. "Who's this pretty boy?"

Orson raised an eyebrow at the nickname.

Matilda joked, "An old colleague of mine. Why, you interested?"

Eugene grimaced, but Criss took a longer look at Orson's face, "Hmm... Looks like he's got a soft exterior, but I bet he's fierce when it counts..."

Orson's expression darkened instantly.

"Hey, hey, hey!"

Seeing Orson's growing irritation, Criss quickly hugged himself, "Just saying! Just saying!"
