A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 566

The following evening, at around 8 p.m., Yvan sent Carl to pick up Logan. He also had people stationed around Matilda's hospital room, with some even disguising themselves as patients, moving through the hospital corridors just to ensure that Chad's crew wouldn't get a chance to harm Matilda.

After making sure Matilda had fallen asleep from her sedatives, Logan sneaked out to meet Yvan and hopped into the car, only to find Lynn sitting in the backseat.

The boy's eyebrows furrowed deeply. "Why is she here?"

"Big brother!" Lynn, oblivious to Logan's disdain, grabbed his hand. "I missed you so much, so I came with Dad."

Hearing Lynn call Yvan 'Dad' felt like a stab to Logan’s heart. He jerked his hand away, "Stay away from me!"

Lynn's expression froze. Yvan glanced at them through the rearview mirror and cleared his throat, feeling helpless.

"Did... did I do something to upset you?" Lynn asked softly.

"Your very existence upsets me."

Logan’s eyes were filled with disgust. "Stay away from me! Gross!"

Gross, he called her gross…

It felt like something shattered inside Lynn, and tears began to fall, but Logan remained indifferent, even hostile. "Save your crocodile tears! I don’t want to see that pitiful look on your face!"

Yvan drove in silence, internally sighing.

Lynn stopped crying, careful not to provoke Logan further, even her breathing was cautious.
