A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 612

Just Matilda? Was she really worth Yvan's concern?

Opal had never seen Matilda as anything special. To her, Matilda was just a fallen heiress, as insignificant as a feather on the scales of society, certainly not significant enough to threaten her hold on Yvan!

But when Yvan caught the disdain on Opal's face, he just smirked, "Yes, for Matilda, for myself, and for my son. You love to use threats against me, don't you?"

Yvan's gaze was void of any emotion. He had tolerated enough, leading to tragic outcomes. Now, facing his grandmother, he felt nothing but disappointment. "Go on, Grandma, don't stop. I'm curious to see how far you'll go. Will you resort to threats of death next?"

Threats of death!

Opal was stunned by Yvan's words; was he mocking her?!

"Yvan, you've changed—this isn't the grandson I knew..."

"So I've changed, so be it."

Yvan, hands in his coat pockets, turned away, refusing to look at his grandmother again. "Stop saying I've changed, Grandma. You never truly understood me. How would you know what I was like before?"

He strode through the garden, ignoring his grandmother's calls, heading straight for Rachel's room.

The man's tall figure moved gracefully, his coat fluttering in the winter breeze, his disheveled hair partially covering his determined eyes.
