A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 615

"Looking sharp, sharp, sharp, you're the sharpest of all," Chloe snorted with laughter. "And there goes our goddess, saddled with rumors again. She's just too popular..."

Matilda, however, was unfazed. She had weathered storms of gossip before; this was just a breeze that wouldn't ruffle her feathers in the slightest.

Asuka watched Matilda's reaction, then let a dashing smile play across her lips, looking particularly handsome.

Chloe clucked her tongue in wonder, "Asuka, you're a woman, how come you look cooler than most guys?"

"Good genes," Asuka flashed a youthful, sun-kissed smile, revealing her canines, which, together with a beauty mark under her eye, made her look every bit the heartthrob.

Such a handsome face... on a woman. Chloe glanced at Godfrey, who immediately retorted, "What, you doubting me? I'm all man. Don't believe me? I'll prove it tonight if you want."

"Cut it out!" Chloe playfully smacked Godfrey with her chopsticks, while Criss was still fretting over the news article, cursing under his breath while munching on his food, "Damn! How am I supposed to chase after cute guys now, damn it, who wrote that piece?"

Eugene laughed, "Can't find any cute guys anymore? Guess I, as your brother, will have to reluctantly take you in."

Criss rolled his eyes, "Brotherly love has its limits! Leave some legacy for our family, at least."

Godfrey nearly choked on his soup, "Just find someone to have a baby in your stead! That way, you can have your fun without any worries."

"Brilliant idea." Criss snapped his fingers, "But my genes are too noble for just anyone."

"Keep dreaming!" Logan and Asuka chimed in together, laughing, and the whole group erupted into laughter, filling the room with a jovial atmosphere. Meanwhile, in the highest office of the Boyd Group, Carl felt like he was undergoing torture.

Silence reigned as he cautiously glanced at his boss. Yvan had been staring at the news on his phone, motionless, for a good ten minutes.
