A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 619

Yvan stood frozen, feeling as if a bucket of icy water had been dumped over him. This was a turn of events he had not anticipated...

Even Godfrey hadn't expected Chad to be this ruthless, to have kidnapped all of Yvan's family.

But how could he have managed it? The Boyd Mansion was always guarded by servants; how could they have been taken so easily?

Unless... unless someone had infiltrated the Boyd family...

Yvan's gaze turned icy, struggling to keep his voice steady, “What do you want?”

“Listen up, both you and Godfrey,” Chad's voice was sinister, “I want you to trade Matilda for all of them.”

Chad's demand was like a blow to Godfrey and Yvan's sanity.

“So cocky, aren't you! Thinking you can just waltz in and save Orson and Hadrian right under my nose all for this woman named Matilda!” Chad’s sharp laughter pierced through Yvan’s ears—

“I can't touch you, but I can touch those close to you! Let's see how far you're willing to go for Matilda. Come on, Yvan, come take your revenge! The moment you chose to side with that old geezer Hadrian, you were against me!

I'm telling you, trading Matilda's life for so many others is the best deal you're gonna get. One life for many, how can you say no to that? You have half an hour to bring her over, or Godfrey and you can prepare for a funeral!”

After his ultimatum, Chad hung up. He was clear on his terms: trade Matilda or let them all die! Worse comes to worst, they would all go down together.

Driven to madness by Chad's threat, Yvan's eyes reddened, and the moment the call ended, he smashed an ashtray onto the floor in fury.

“Mr. Boyd!”
