A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 657

Keaton couldn't help but feel exasperated with the nonchalant attitude of the man before him. "Do you seriously not see a problem with yourself?"

The man, with his dark hair and eyes, flashed a mysterious smile. "What kind of problem should I be having, according to you?"

Keaton gestured towards himself. "Any rejection symptoms lately?"

"Much better now." The man's response was accompanied by his usual carefree yet lazy grin, but once... he wasn't like this.

"Speaking of which—" Keaton sighed, getting up to leave, only to be stopped by the man. "Hey, you gave me a kidney. My sex life isn't gonna be all messed up now, is it?"

Keaton was so angry he felt like his head would explode. "For Christ's sake, people worry about dying when they get a transplant, and here you are, worrying about your sex life! Can't you ever take anything seriously?"

The man laughed devilishly. "Life and death are just parts of existence. Might as well enjoy the pleasures of the moment."

Keaton was tempted to throw his drink in the man's handsome face. "You'd be doing the world a favor by dropping dead!"

"Disasters stick around for centuries." The man ran a hand through his hair, looking rebelliously charming. With a thin smile, he added, "So, I'm not dying anytime soon."

Keaton shrugged. "I've delivered the message. Just watch your back these days."

"Fine. I'll be careful." His friend chuckled, his eyebrows arching with a defiant beauty. "But can you at least hint at who's after me?"

This time, it was Keaton who wore a mysterious smile, laden with deep implications. "It's the trial of your lifetime."
