A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 659

At 7 p.m., the charity gala kicked off right on schedule. Matilda, arm in arm with Adrian, who was also holding Logan's hand, made a picture-perfect entrance, resembling an ideal family trio.

Their arrival was undeniably a highlight, with a frenzy of flashbulbs and continuous clicks of cameras capturing their every move.

With a poised smile, Matilda concluded their grand entrance and moved towards the hosts. Adrian whispered to her, "Everyone's eyes are on you."

Feeling a bit bashful, Matilda replied, "Let's drop it, shall we? We should go greet Mr. Avice; it's been a while since we last caught up."

"Hey, my dear sweetheart."

As if on cue, the real estate mogul Avice, clad in a crisp white suit, approached them with two glasses of wine. Surprised at seeing Adrian, he quickly recovered with a laugh, "Look at my memory, forgetting Miss Dawn's plus-one. Oh, I'm getting old."

After a hearty laugh, he handed a glass to Matilda and then personally handed one to Adrian, "Here you go, handsome young man. I'm glad to see Miss Dawn is not alone. God, she's been flying solo for a while; I started to think she was all for living single."

"You jest," Adrian responded perfectly, "It's my pleasure to be here with her."

"Haha, you two look wonderful together," Avice raised his glass, "Here's to celebrating Dawn gracing us with her presence and to you two finding each other."

Matilda was grateful for Mr. Avice's warmth and hospitality. During the Boyd family's crisis, he had been a true friend, standing by her side. She felt honored to have such genuine relationships.

In a corner, a man with slick hair sat across from another with long white locks—envy personified. Noticing his distracted gaze, the latter teasingly asked, "Yvan, who has caught your eye?"

"Hey." The man identified as Yvan smirked, his lips curling into a mischievous smile, his demeanor that of a carefree playboy, though his eyes remained cold, "I've spotted a gorgeous lady..."
