A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 701

Keaton squinted his eyes in amusement, seemingly oblivious to any danger, "You do realize you're living under my roof, right? Kill me, and what's your plan? Going to crash under a bridge?"

Lance felt provoked by Keaton's taunt, his teeth clenched as he reached out to grab Keaton by the throat, "Don't push me!"

"Who's pushing you?" Keaton chuckled, "Go on then, Mr. Green-Eyed Monster."

"You—!!" Lance tightened his grip, "Nothing gets under my skin more than someone outshining me."

"Got a bit of an ego, huh? Can't stand seeing someone doing better?" Keaton laughed it off, "Sorry to burst your bubble, but remember that medical conference? I took first place."

Lance was about to explode in rage. How could there be someone so infuriating, challenging him at every turn!

"Don't think I won't do it!" Lance had to admit, deep down, he admired Keaton—his achievements in medicine and his composure at this very moment. But jealousy was in his nature, always wanting to win like a child. If Keaton wouldn't back down, Lance would harbor resentment for life.

"You're acting like a little hamster puffing up in anger." Keaton's laugh was light as he observed Lance's gritted teeth, "Especially with your white hair, you look just like a little albino hamster."

What did this infuriating man just compare him to? A lab rat?!

It was a direct hit to his already teetering pride!
