A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 725

Faced with his father's invitation, Yvan didn't decline but said, "How about tomorrow night? I've still got some things to sort out, and I'm currently staying at the Keaton's..."

"Keaton, I really can't thank you enough..." Upon hearing this, Noel went over and took Keaton's hand, "I don't even know what to say to thank you, honestly..."

"Don't mention it. At first, I even lied to you," Keaton glanced at Yvan. "I was just scared that if the experiment failed, I wouldn't be able to face you. But thankfully, Yvan's condition has somewhat stabilized now, which is why I agreed to let him come back."

Noel was already choked up and couldn't speak, just seeing Yvan standing there, well and alive, made him feel like he had used up all his luck in this life.

"Yeah, thank goodness... thank goodness you're back." Noel reached out and touched Yvan's face, "Looks like your mom and I can finally look forward to our golden years."

"Dad." Yvan smiled helplessly, "Sorry, for losing my memory and making you wait for so long."

Blood is thicker than water. Even though he had lost his memory, calling Noel "Dad" didn’t feel awkward in the slightest because his body and habits still remembered his family.

And what about Matilda?

Yvan looked up at Matilda standing off to the side.

Matilda noticed Yvan looking at her and just gave a detached smile. After their farewell that night, she hadn’t said much else. Now, seeing each other again, she was only there to hand over something.

Matilda handed a stack of printed documents to Yvan, "I've prepared everything regarding the company, top to bottom, and have also completed my resignation process. All of this, it’s time it goes back to you."

The Boyd Group had flourished under Yvan's guidance, a young and savvy prodigy, and Matilda was just one of his many admirers. Now, returning everything to him, she felt no regret.

Yvan stared at the thick stack of documents Matilda handed over, outlining the company's operations and future schedules. Matilda had meticulously noted every detail, organized and printed them out.

It took him a moment to take them, and upon doing so, Matilda sighed in relief, then smiled, a mix of relief and liberation on her face, "One last congratulations, welcome back, Yvan."

Yvan glanced at the summary report and found it astonishing how everything made sense once it entered his brain. He instinctively knew how to proceed, how to prepare for upcoming meetings. It seemed his brain had subconsciously retained everything, and even though his memories were lost, his habits prompted him to react as he used to.

This… was his former position, the once cold and calculating, yet incredibly efficient President of the Boyd Group.

Matilda then pulled out her resignation letter, adopting a formal tone, "Mr. Boyd, this is my letter of resignation. In your absence, I inadequately took over the reins of the Boyd Group. Now, I'm handing everything back to you and resigning. Please, review it at your convenience."

As these words fell, those present sensed an air of nobility and sacrifice in her gesture.

It was akin to a modern-day rendition of dedicating one's life to a cause, a display of unwavering loyalty and dedication that, despite facing insurmountable odds, bore no regret.
