A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 782

As Yvan approached, Matilda was busy adjusting her camera, her face half-turned, exuding a serene beauty that was utterly captivating. Entering the room, Yvan caught her attention, and she looked up, her expression cool, "Yes?"

"I..." Yvan hesitated, struggling to find the right words, "I came to explain, sweetheart."

His tone carried a hint of his usual cheekiness, tinged with a touch of exasperation, "I really didn't mean to take Donna's side, don't be mad at me. It all just happened so suddenly... I didn't see it coming..."

Matilda scoffed disdainfully, "So? What do you want?"

Yvan's face twisted with complex emotions, "I want to apologize. I let you down earlier."

"Not really." Matilda's voice was as icy as ever, as if their roles had somehow reversed, "I didn't have any expectations of you."

Yvan felt as if he'd been stabbed in the heart. He stepped back, turning to Criss, "This lady's got a heart of stone!"

Criss shook his head, "You brought this on yourself, man."

Taking a deep breath, Yvan faced Matilda again, after a long pause he asked, "So, what do I have to do to make it up to you for today's inaction?"

"Hmm?" Matilda seemed amused by Yvan's demeanor, finding it oddly clingy yet somewhat amusing, "What's gotten into you, suddenly acting all needy?"

Yvan, channeling his inner pop idol charm, flashed a mischievous smile, "Haven't you noticed, Matilda? I'm genuinely apologizing here. If you don't like that little witch, how about I take you right now, and we go give her a piece of our mind, maybe splash some paint on her face, how's that?"

Matilda couldn't help but laugh at Yvan's antics, "Don't try to play games with me."
