As Matthew walked forward, he heard a voice and stopped. When he turned around, he saw Eleanor tumbling down the mountain with her belongings. After rolling for five or six rounds, her big backpack prevented her from rolling any further.
"Ah, t-that was scary." Lying on the ground, Eleanor looked up at the proud man standing above her with his arms crossed and a cold, aloof attitude. She reached out and waved her fair hand a few times. "Master, it hurts so much that I can't get up. Please, help me."
"If you can shout and move, it seems like you're fine." Matthew raised his wrist. "You have one minute to come up; otherwise, I'll leave." He never had patience toward women other than Veronica.
From the ground, Eleanor listened to his words and almost jumped up in anger on the spot. However, in order to pretend to be pitiful, she tried her best to continue with the act. "Oh, Master. My foot… It's really sprained and hurts so much. Can't you come down and help me up?"
"Forty seconds left. Are you sure you don't want to leave?" The man stood in his position, motionless, showing no intention of helping her.
"My foot hurts," she sobbed. "Master, you're so heartless…" Angry and aggrieved, she grumbled in silence, How can there be a man in the world who isn't attracted to me? This is annoying.
"If you don't want to leave, just keep lying there, and it will save me trouble if you die." By now, Matthew didn't have the patience to wait for her anymore. After saying that, he turned around and continued walking forward without hesitation.
He walked away so freely and decisively, leaving Eleanor still lying on the ground and fuming. "Hey, Master! Master, don't go! Wait for me!"
She quickly got up from the ground and angrily kicked a nearby stone. Perhaps she had kicked too hard and sprained her ankle. "Ouch! Oh, it hurts so much!" Eleanor grimaced in pain, standing on one foot, gently shaking her ankle.
Even though he heard her cries of pain, Matthew thought she was just acting and continued walking forward without stopping.
"Wait for me. Ouch… Wait for me." A surge of anger rose in Eleanor's heart as she limped and chased after him.
As she chased after him, she cursed, "Matthew Kings, you jerk. You better not let me catch you. I'm telling you, one day, when you become my subordinate, I'll bind you into my harem and then ignore you every day so you know what it feels like to be ignored by me and experience what it means to be 'left on the shelf.' Ouch! Oh my, my foot is killing me."
The man in the distance noticed that she wasn't faking the pain. Although he didn't turn around, his walking speed gradually slowed down. "You won't live to see that day!" he said.
"Hmph, there's no man I can't conquer once I set my eyes on him." Eleanor quickened her pace to catch up with Matthew, infuriated by him, and they continued walking forward.
The two large mountains were so vast that Mount Manos in front of them blocked the view of Mount Gazette, and it would take two days to cross both mountains, even more time to climb to the top of Mount Gazette.
Time was running out; there was no room for delay because Matthew needed to find Veronica and also help her gain an advantage. The burden on his shoulders was heavy.
"Master, I'm so thirsty, but my water bottle is empty. Do you have any water?" Eleanor acted like a spoiled little princess, shamelessly whining to Matthew.
The man found her somewhat annoying and glanced back at her. He had intended to refuse, but seeing her pale face drenched in sweat, he tossed the water bottle to her and said, "Take it."
A thirsty Eleanor unscrewed the cap of the water bottle, took a sip, and smirked as she raised the water bottle. "Master, does this count as an indirect kiss between us?"
