AUTHOR’S POV
“ I am pregnant. ” Sara admitted, closing her eyes to avoid looking at Silas or Grandfather Albert.
“ What? ” Silas whisper yelled, disbelief written all over his face.
“ Are you deaf, Silas? ” Grandfather Albert was grinning ear to ear not feeling shocked at all. His Grandson had finally done something good.
“ I mean – I… ” Silas didn’t know how to react. Now all her actions made sense to him.
He was in shock but the moment the reality sank in, he blinked.
Sudden delight hit his heart as he rushed toward Sara and grabbed her forearms while she was still keeping her eyes closed.
She felt embarrassed after saying it out aloud and even in front of everyone.
It turned out, all planning was in vain. Her plans never worked when it came to Silas Alexander.
“ Is it true? Can you say it again? ” Silas grinned, his eyes shining as he looked down at her.
There was some disbelief in his heart and he wanted to hear it from her mouth for one more time to be sure – truly sure.
Sara sighed, opening her eyes. She found him standing in front of her, his eyes bright and his lips curved up in a heart – warming smile.
Was he happy? She dragged her tongue across her lips, not knowing how to react in such situation.
“ Leave the room. ” Grandfather Albert ordered the Butler and The doctor because he was aware of the fact that the presence of irrelevant people made Sara feel uncomfortable. From now on, the things or situations she feels uncomfortable about should be taken care off immediately.
Sara was staring up at Silas, silently happy that Grandfather got rid of everyone. She was not used to letting everyone listen in to her personal matters.
“ I found out when you were in the hospital. ” Sara whispered in a hushed tone, gazing up in his light brown orbs.
Grandfather Albert walked forward, making Silas step aside to give him way.
Sara was hesitant in doing or saying anything further because she was unaware of the right way to behave in a situation like this.
“ You have to take care of yourself now, Sara. No more fighting. If Silas does something, you have to tell me instead of deciding to leave the house. ” Grandfather Albert tried to maintain his stoic posture when all he felt like doing was to grin ear to ear.
He eyed Silas who was smiling widely before he leaned in toward Sara to whisper. “ If my Grandson bothers you too much, tell me and I will kick him out but you can’t leave now. We will get rid of him instead. I promise. ”
Sara cackled up, her cheeks turning red at the unexpected offer which sounded too tempting.
“ Sure, Grandfather. ” She nodded her head, her eyes moving toward Silas to notice him staring at them suspiciously now.
“ Remember. You have to take care of yourself. You have my Great – Grandson with you now. ” Grandfather Albert reluctantly raised his old hand and patted Sara’s hair with his expressions still serious.
Sara’s head snapped toward him, her heart warming up for the old man in front of her. He had done for her more than her own Grandfather had done for her throughout her whole life. Grandfather Albert had made her feel like she truly belonged without having to pay for every single good thing offered to her by him.
He seemed like a powerful and arrogant old man but he was in reality, a kind – hearted Grandfather who wanted his family to be together and happy.
When Sara smiled up at Grandfather Albert, an unconscious smile touched his lips too. He couldn’t stop himself from mirroring her action due to the risk that she might think he didn’t consider her a part of their family.
He pulled his hand back and turned toward Silas who was stuck somewhere between the sixth and seventh sky.
“ Don’t trouble her again. ” He warned, raising his finger and watched Silas sighing dramatically.
“ She is the one who troubles me. ” Silas muttered under his breath but instantly straightened up when he noticed the murderous intention in Grandfather Albert’s eyes.
“ As you say, Grandfather. ” He nodded his head obediently.
Grandfather Albert stole a last glance at Sara who was fidgeting with her fingers nervously before he decided to leave them two alone to talk.
The moment he stepped out of the room and the door closed behind him, an awkward silence took over the atmosphere.
Silas’s eyes observed Sara who was looking down at the floor.
Awkward. That’s what he thought the situation was because they both didn’t know what to say to express their emotions.
“ I – You don’t know how happy I am right now. ” Silas broke the silence, closing the distance between them.
His hand cupped her cheek, lifting her face so he could look in her eyes. Sara nibbled on her lower lip, her green orbs peering in his light brown ones.
“ Okay. ” She let out, nervously.
Silas pulled Sara in, his hands encircling her waist in an embrace. Her head rested on his chest, her ears listening in to his heartbeat which was faster than the normal rate.
“ I planned on not telling you for a while but then I guess, I can’t do this to you. You have a right to know. ” Sara whispered against his chest before pulling her head back to look up at him.
Silas pecked her red nose, the smile constantly playing on his lips.
