Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 400

"Grace, don't be afraid. I'm here."

Grace closed her eyes, tears soaking into the pillow beneath her.

"I'm not afraid of dying."

She whispered, her voice barely above a breath.

"I just… feel so sorry for my mother."

Two days later.

Graceline Technologies.

Although Damien strongly objected, Grace insisted on coming to the office.

She refused to be an invalid, and she certainly didn't want to lock herself in a cage at such a critical time.

The moment Ivy saw Grace, her eyes instantly welled up with tears.

"Grace, how did you get so thin…"

Grace was wearing a loose-fitting beige trench coat, which only emphasized how much weight she had lost.

Her face was frighteningly pale, and she looked utterly exhausted. If Damien hadn't had a firm, protective arm wrapped around her waist, Ivy would have worried she might simply collapse.

"I'm fine," Grace managed a weak smile.

Damien's brow immediately furrowed as he expertly unscrewed a thermos and held it to her lips.

"Is Dorian here?" Grace asked, her voice a little hoarse after a sip of warm water.

"He's here, waiting for you in the conference room," Ivy said in a low voice. "Dorian looks… pretty pale himself."

After Grace returned from Verstein, Damien had pulled some strings to get Ivy a position as Vice President at Graceline Technologies.

Ivy was more than happy to accept.

She got a high salary and could help Grace at the same time. It was a win-win.

Pushing open the conference room door, they saw Dorian sitting and staring blankly out the floor-to-ceiling window.

Hearing the noise, he turned his head. When he saw Grace being supported by Damien, a flash of panic and guilt crossed his eyes.
