Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 402

The man on the other end paused. “Mr. Hart, what’s happened?”

“Don’t ask so many questions!” Dorian gritted out. “Especially Grace… If Grace or anyone from Damien’s side finds you, you say nothing!”

“Keep your mouth shut, and I’ll transfer five hundred thousand dollars to you right now.”

There were a few seconds of silence, then a chuckle. “Alright, since you’re asking, Mr. Hart, this old man will keep his lips sealed. It’s been so many years anyway, who can remember anything clearly?”

After hanging up, Dorian quickly received Lawrence’s account information.

A low chime from his phone confirmed the funds had been wired, the sound ringing in his ears like a death knell.

Dorian stared at the debit notification, the phone feeling so hot in his hand he could barely hold it.

What was he doing?

He was helping a killer cover up their crime. He was deceiving his sister, who had just come back from the brink of death.

“I’m doing this for the family… I’m doing this for Grace…”

Dorian muttered to himself, wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, composed his expression, and headed back to the conference room.

But he didn’t know that the moment he turned to leave, Felix was standing in the shadows of a corner in the hallway, holding up his phone. The screen showed a screenshot from a live security feed.

Back in the conference room, Dorian wore an apologetic smile.

“Grace, I just made a round of calls. Martha passed away a few years ago. As for Lawrence…”

Dorian sighed, a look of helplessness on his face. “I heard from a neighbor at the old estate that he moved back to the country. Doesn’t even have a cell phone, so there’s no way to reach him. Give me some time. Even if I have to go there and search door-to-door, I’ll find him for you.”

Grace sat there, watching him quietly.
