His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 392

Aiden POV

I am doing research and trying to figure out why Blackstone and Ironclaw need to merge. I am at a loss. I haven’t been able to reach Alpha Paul. Fucking asshole. I want to start negotiations before Thalia gives birth and we have to leave to Obscure Maw for training and research.

I went to go see my dad. Maybe he can help me get in contact with Alpha Max. That’s Alpha Paul’s son. When I get to the house though, Isaiah is talking to dad. I guess he listened to the message Thalia got from Sinclair.

“Dad, those two women are a pain in my ass. You know what’s worse? I turned them. I wouldn't have had a mate, otherwise. The Moon Goddess didn’t have anyone planned for me unless I turned them myself.” He said, sounding dejected. “Now, I’m a distraction. Ungrateful. That’s what they are.”

I hear my father chuckle, “Son, you are going to have it so bad when you figure out which one is your mate.”

“Sinclair passed a message along that I should come see you about them. Why? Why can’t they just tell me what the hell their problem is?”

“Son, do you believe the Moon Goddess knows best?”

“Of course.”

“Then first, stop questioning her. Second, those two pains in your ass have been through a lot of shit.” I heard my dad tell Isaiah. “I don’t know all the details, but I do know that when I was talking to them about turning and asked them why, I got the sense that their lives were lonely. Like all they had was each other. I think Sinclair’s issue is more about wanting to belong. Even if it’s not for love. Just feeling like she is part of a family. Kaia’s situation has a lot to do with disillusionment. Her life on the outside seems perfect, by her own admission. There isn’t anything perfect about it though. Her attitude is all about faking it, until she makes it. Those women are hitmen, or were hitmen. They have tough exteriors. You are going to have to change your strategy.” He finished.

I walked in and said hello, then I chimed in, “Isaiah, you know that gift I got after being mated to Thalia. The one that shows why someone makes a decision.”

“Yeah.”

“I saw Sinclair’s reasoning. She was bounced from foster home to foster home. Then she finally settled with a foster family that treated her like an outsider. She decided to turn so she could belong somewhere.” I said.

“What about Kaia?” Isaiah asked with furrowed eyebrows after hearing about Sinclair.

“I never got anything about Kaia. She is a bit of a mystery. She is already married but wanted to turn to find her mate. If I had to guess, her marriage isn’t a happy one.” I said, then I looked at dad. “Do you have a way to get in contact with Alpha Max?”

“I should have his number in my office, why?” My dad said.

“Because his asshole of a son is refusing to meet me for at least six months. I don’t believe Alpha Paul is out of town for that long on business.” I said.

Isaiah spoke up, “Why do we need to merge with Ironclaw? What is so great about them anyway? All they run is steel.”

“I don’t know, bro.” I said. “Hey, are you good?”

“No. I don’t like know that one of them is my mate and I don’t know which one.” He said.

“Maybe they both are your mate.” I said, teasing him.
