Chapter 419
Kaia POV
When Isaiah held my hand, I felt the electric jolts. I had a heady feeling. For some reason his voice even sounds
sweeter now.
‘Because he’s, our mate!’ Izo said. She is extremely happy and rolling around in my mind..
‘Calm down. He doesn’t like us. He always called me a pain in the ass.’ I said.
‘He doesn’t want to reject you, either. I don’t think it’s because he hates you. Think Kaia!’
I inwardly sigh, ‘What about his wolf. Is his wolf being nice to you?’
Izo was smiling and panting, ‘He’s dreamy.’
I chuckled in my mind, ‘Down girl.’
After dinner, I asked where they were staying. “I figured I could book a couple of rooms at the hotel down the street.” Isaiah said.
“I rented an Airbnb. It’s a three bedroom. You guys can crash with there if you want and save the money.” I said. ” Just don’t mess with the stuff in the den. That’s the setup.”
“Setup?” Isaiah asked.
Sinclair answered, “Yeah, Kaia and I set it up. It’s her control center to take care of her little problem here.”
“What problem?”
“My husband.” I said flatly.
He growled low, “I can’t get rid of him. Then you can come back with Sinclair and me tomorrow.”
He really seems desperate to take me back. The look on his face is ferocious and adorable at the same time. Plus, his crystal blue eyes are gorgeous. I don’t think I ever noticed them before. It must be the mate thing.
“Isaiah, I appreciate the sentiment, but I got this.” I said. “So do you want to crash with me or no?”
“Hell yeah! We will follow you.” Sinclair said.
I smiled and looked at Isaiah, “Are you going to be a rule follower or have a little fun?”
He cocked his eyebrow and smirked before he gestured his hand forward and said, “Lead the way.’
After a twenty-minute drive, we arrived at the Airbnb. Sinclair grabs her bag and Isaiah grabs his. They come inside and I show them to their rooms. Isaiah looks at me kind of weird though. I’m not sure why, but I go back to my room, change into a pair of sweats and a pajama tee. The bra came off, because I’m settling in for the night.
I get a water bottle from the fridge and start heading to the den to continue monitoring throughout the night, when I run into a wall. A warm and muscular wall. I look up and I see crystal blue eyes staring at me.
“Mate.” He said.
“That’s me.” I said nervously. Why is my heart racing? I am used to picking on this man and now he has this overwhelming presence over me. His gaze on my collarbone is intense.
“Don’t you think we should talk?”

“Sure. About what?” I asked. I know exactly what, but I can’t do this right now. I need to stay focused on my mission.
“Really? Are you going to act like you don’t know?” He said as he took a step forward. I instinctively took a step back. But for every step I took, he took one too. When my lower back was backed on the kitchen counter, he leaned in closer and put both hands on the counter, on either side of me. “Nervous?” He smirked.
“I have a headache.” I said, smirking.
He leaned in and whispered in my ear, “I bet I can make it go away.” He said.
I felt a shiver go down my back at the closeness. “Oh, yeah?”
He wraps one of his arms around my waist and his nose goes to my neck and he starts inhaling. It’s so intimate that I’m getting goosebumps on my arms, and I am feeling my nipples harden.
“Isaiah.” I said and damn it, I sound breathy.
“Your voice sounds different when you say my name.” He whispered. “I like it.”
My body is betraying me and I need space. He inhales my scent again and then gently kisses my neck and I gasp. I’m not ready for this. I immediately put my hand on his chest and pushed back gently.
He looks at me like he is surprised that I am pulling back. He doesn’t understand that right now, I have to. Until my mission is over, I can’t risk any slip ups.
“Kaia?” He said and I heard the disappointment in his voice.
“I can’t right now, Isaiah. I need to go to the den. I have a long night of monitoring.” I said and I pushed past him and walked away as fast as I could.
I thought I heard him say something, but I couldn’t make it out. Either way, my head is spinning. His scent is mouthwatering to me. I almost caved. He smelled like sandalwood and rosemary. If I could bottle up his scent and wear it, I would.
‘If he marks us, then we would carry his scent with us.’ Izo said.
‘You know why we can’t do that yet, Izo. Just a little while longer.’
Izo huffs, ‘Storn is going to think I don’t want him and I do. I want my mate!’
‘I know. But we have to play our cards right, Izo. We can’t be reckless. We have come so far. We need to see this through. I have a lot riding on this right now.’
‘Fine.’ She said as she sulked in the back of my mind.
I take a seat in front of the controls in the den. The monitors are still going, and I see my husband in our bed. Except he has a blond on top of him. She is riding him and moaning loudly.
