I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 233

For a moment, I was transported back to my past life. That lunatic, Queena Yang, had used a similar tactic to humiliate me.

Steven and I had just had a huge fight, and Queena had seized the opportunity to declare to the world that she was his real woman, his true wife.

Unfortunately for her, I was just as much of a lunatic, madly in love with him. We ended up in a brawl on the first floor of the office building. It was a complete disaster.

The most humiliating part was the look in Steven’s eyes. I was a disheveled mess, my hair wild, my clothes torn, consumed by my frantic love for him. He, on the other hand, was impeccably dressed in a suit, his leather shoes clicking on the floor as he walked calmly toward me. He gave me a brief, indifferent glance, then walked right past me and left on his business trip.

That was the moment my love for him began to turn to hate. That was the beginning of the end for us…

Jacob clenched his fists. “Linda, that’s going too far! What proof do you have that Zephyra is a mistress? If you have a problem with her being the director, then prove yourself with your skills, not by spreading disgusting rumors. I’m embarrassed for you!”

Linda’s eyes hardened, then she smirked. “You’re just an intern, but you’re always defending her. And she’s always looking out for you. You two haven’t known each other that long, have you? It would be strange if there wasn’t something going on between you.”

Jacob’s face flushed a deep red, his eyes turning bloodshot. “Don’t be ridiculous! There’s nothing between Zephyra and me!”

“Who would believe that?” Linda sneered.

The crowd’s scornful gazes, which had been directed solely at me, now split, half of them turning on him, as if they really believed we were having an affair.

His breathing grew ragged, and he looked like he was about to cry. I put a hand on his shoulder and gently pushed him aside.
