I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 96

I swallowed, my mouth suddenly dry. Personal feelings aside, Steven’s face and body were enough to make any woman drool.

He saw me staring, a contemptuous smirk twisting his lips. “Zephyra, you’re drooling. You’re such a lecher.”

I quickly wiped my mouth. Nothing. I glared at him. “What are you talking about? I’m not drooling!” Why did he have so many nicknames for me? I was a poor wretch, a waste of space, and now a lecher. He was insufferable.

He walked toward me, the smirk widening. “So eager to get into my bed? All that tough talk before was just you playing hard to get, wasn’t it?”

“Get a grip! Who wants to sleep with you? We’re sleeping separately tonight!” I shot back, hopping off the bed to go shower. Suddenly, a pillow hit me square in the chest, followed by his low, commanding voice. “You’re sleeping on the floor.”

“What?” My eyes widened. “You want me to sleep where?”

“The floor,” he said, raising an eyebrow. “Or did you want to share the bed with me?” His gaze drifted over my body, landing on my chest with an expression of profound disgust.

I could feel his disdain, and it made me laugh. I climbed back onto the bed, spread-eagled across it like a starfish, claiming my territory. “I don’t want to share a bed with you. But if you insist on sharing a room, then I get the bed, and you get the floor!”

In my past life, no one could ever force Steven to do something he didn’t want to do, not even his grandfather. In a situation like this, he would have simply disappeared, or found another room to sleep in. But today, not only was he staying in the same room, he was actually arguing with me over the bed. It was bizarre.

Before I could dwell on it, his cold voice cut through my thoughts. “Get off.” Water dripped from the ends of his hair, tracing a path down his muscular torso. It was a distracting mix of raw and refined.
