Chapter 265 Too Much Trouble

Nina was getting desperate, tilting her chubby face up even higher and almost leaning all the way back.

Just as she looked like she was gonna tip over, Amelia held back a laugh and finally stopped teasing her.

“Wow, Nina, what’s that little red flower? Who gave it to you?” she asked.

Seeing that Amelia had finally noticed, Nina grinned triumphantly. “Sally! Nina’s fwower!”

Amelia smiled and said, “Wow, Nina’s flower is so pretty Can I have it?”

Nina shook her head firmly. “No. Nina’s!”

Amelia chuckled and pinched her chubby cheeks. “You ttle miser.”

She picked Nina up right away and hailed a taxi at the curb.

She had already told William and Daniel she’d take Nina to dinner with a friend, so they weren’t picking Nina up today.

Benjamin was busy again.

Honestly, his being busy was the norm-his frequent absences from the office lately were the exception.

In Amelia’s arms, Nina blinked and started her little interrogation.

“Mommy, where Grandpa?”

“At home.”

“Where Un-coo Dan’el?”

“At the hospital with Chloe.”

“Where Daddy?”

“He is making money.”

Nina asked about everyone in the family like a broken record.

After asking about Benjamin, she insisted on calling him

Seeing how determined she was, Amelia video-called Benjamin once they got in the taxi.

Benjamin answered quickly.

As soon as the call connected, Nina’s chubby face took the whole screen.

Her face was round but actually pretty small. Up this close, it looked all magnified-very chubby and cute.

“Daddy! See me.” Her goal was simple: she urgently needed Benjamin to admire her little red flower.

Benjamin looked at it for two seconds. Though his tone wasn’t as enthusiastic as Amelia’s, he still praised her, “Very nice.”

Happy with the praise, Nina beamed and started chattering on about her day.

She had to tell every little thing that happened at daycare, including going potty after lunch.

Seeing her chattering on endlessly, Amelia leaned in and said, “Benjamin, is she bothering you? You can get back to work. We’re almost there.”

Hearing this, Benjamin set down his coffee cup and looked up. “Almost there? Where are you and Nina going?”

His tone was casual, just making small talk.

Amelia answered just as casually, “That’s the classmate I told you about before. He somehow got my contact info recently and added me. I’m just meeting him for dinner.”

After she explained, Benjamin paused for two seconds and asked, “Meeting him for dinner? Isn’t bringing Nina gonna be inconvenient?”

Amelia smiled, “Not at all. I told him, and he doesn’t mind.”

Hearing that, Benjamin pointed out a practical issue. “Nina’s a handful at restaurants. You won’t be able to eat properly if you’re watching her.”

Amelia insisted, “It’s fine. I can…”

Benjamin cut her off, “Send me the address. I’ll come pick you up when you’re almost finished. Then I can take Nina, and you can eat in peace.”

Amelia was hesitant and said, “That’s too much trouble.”

But Benjamin insisted.

In the end, Amelia had to send him the address.

After the video call ended, the taxi arrived at their destination.

Nina, with her little backpack on, said goodbye to the driver.

Amelia tried to take the backpack from her, but Nina refused.

She clutched the straps and said seriously, “My backpack!”

“Okay, okay, it’s yours. You carry it then,” Amelia conceded.

Nina was obviously in a new stage where she was reallyrotective of her things.
