Chapter 267 Amelia’s Bluntness
For the first time, Amelia felt the strain of talking to someone.
It was as if she and Jagger weren’t even on the same wavelength.
After commenting that she talked more now, Jagger proceeded to critique her previous point.

He said, “You know, men care most about a woman’s figure. Overweight people do get discriminated against.”
Amelia didn’t know if others discriminated against bigger people.
But she could tell Jagger certainly did.
This felt deeply insulting to Amelia, who had been a chubby child herself and now has a chubby daughter.
She no longer wanted to be in this private room with him.
Amelia didn’t serve Nina any food. Instead, she picked up her phone and texted Benjamin, “Where are you?”
Benjamin replied quickly, “I’m five minutes away from the restaurant. What’s wrong? Is Nina acting up?”
Amelia replied, “No. I just don’t want to finish this dinner anymore. I’ll take Nina and wait for you at the restaurant entrance. We can eat at the mall later.”
Benjamin texted back, “Alright.”
Just as Benjamin agreed, Nina started fussing.
She was trying to climb out of her high chair, wanting to be held. “Mommy, Nina go!”
The little girl who’d been called fat was insisting angrily that they leave.
She didn’t want to eat here anymore.
Seeing this, Amelia lifted her out. She held Nina with one arm, with Nina’s chubby bottom on her hip, and grabbed her backpack with the other hand.
She said, “Jagger, Nina doesn’t want to eat here. I’ll take er out. I’ll pay the bill, so go ahead and finish your meal.”
Amelia’s decision to leave made Jagger frown.
He said, “Amelia, you’re spoiling her. You can’t let a kid get away with this. The more you give in, the more unruly she’ll become.”
He had now made himself out to be a parenting expert.
Hearing his lecturing tone just made Amelia angrier.
“Jagger, you’ve changed,” she said bluntly. “If I knew you turn out like this, I wouldn’t have come to this
dinner at all.”
She’d read online about how some men hit a certain age and turned preachy.

Chapter 267 Amelia’s Bluntness
Looking at Benjamin, she’d thought those words were wrong.
Now, it seemed some things people say online were spot on.
Amelia turned to leave, holding a displeased Nina.
Nina, snuggled up to Amelia, threw the two roses Jagger gave her on the floor.
“Nina mad,” she declared huffily, refusing to look at Jagger.
Seeing Amelia was really set on leaving, Jagger grew anxious.
He shouted, “Wait! Amelia, wait!”

Only now, seeing her change in attitude, did he think to apologize. “What I said earlier was wrong. Please don’t go. Let’s talk this out.”
He grabbed Amelia’s arm, trying to stop her.
Amelia was determined to leave.
As they struggled, Nina saw Jagger holding her mother’s arm. She raised her hand and swatted at him.
She shouted, “Go ‘way! No hit Mommy!”
Nina’s little slap carried surprising force. Jagger reacted instinctively, his hand shot up like he was gonna hit her back.
But before his return slap could land on Nina, Benjamin pushed open the private room door. One cold glance from him froze Jagger in place.
“Daddy!” Nina, seeing Benjamin, wiggled in Amelia’s arms, reaching for him.
Benjamin took Nina. Before she even settled into his arms, Nina seized the opportunity to slap Jagger again quickly.
His chin turned red from the impact.
After her attack, Nina nestled against Benjamin’s chest, er little face looking so proud and cocky.
She wasn’t afraid of Jagger at all.
Nina looked triumphant, while Amelia was still fuming,
Amelia didn’t apologize for Nina’s slaps either. When Jagger grabbed her, she’d felt like slapping him
herself.
She said, “Jagger, Nina’s father is here. We should be going.”
