Tanner closed the email and shut his laptop. He looked around his apartment, checking if it was ready for a little guest.

Tanner lived alone.

His place was close to school, so it was convenient.

A cleaner came by regularly but didn’t live there.

Nina’s love for the bugs was obvious.

But Daniel stood there, feeling totally uncomfortable. “Tanner, why do you have so many bugs?”

Tanner said calmly, “It’s my hobby. Some aren’t poisonous. I can take them out if you want.”

Daniel shook his head and said, “Thanks, but no.”

He had zero interest in bugs and didn’t enjoy them at all/

But Nina loved them more than anything.

She pressed her chubby cheek against the clear terrarium glass, dying to touch them.

Nina asked, “Un-coo Tanner, Nina touch? Nina gentle.”

She knew they were Tanner’s bugs. She held out her little hand and promised to be careful.
