He got the hospital address and prepared to rush over.

“She misses you and wants to see you. Wanna go with me to visit her?

“She really wants you.”

Daniel spoke in a sweet, soft voice, trying his best to calm her down.

Nina glanced at the bug in her hand and still didn’t want to go.

Finally, Tanner noticed Daniel was in a hurry.

gave Nina a common non-poisonous bug as a gift.

Tanner said, “Nina, this one’s for you. Take it and go with Daniel.

“You can come back to see the rest of the bugs when you’re done.”

Tanner gave her the bug and helped Daniel persuade Nina.

Daniel shot him a surprised, grateful look.

With Tanner’s help, Nina sadly said goodbye to the bugs.

Then she held out her little hands to Daniel. “Un-coo Dan’el, hug.”

She refused to walk even one step.

She walked ahead and tried to talk to Nina along the way.

Nina sat in Daniel’s arms, her chubby hands wrapped around his neck.

She blinked at Noelle but didn’t act friendly at all.

Before Noelle could find another topic, they reached the ward door.

The two, who’d been distant with Noelle, lit up the second they saw Alice in bed.

Nina called out, “Alice!”

Daniel said, “Alice.”

They both called her name, and Nina leaned forward eagerly. “Hug Nina?”

She badly wanted Alice to hold her.

But Alice had hurt her right arm and leg. She couldn’t lift her arm to hug Nina.

Daniel saw she couldn’t move and set Nina gently on the bed.

He reminded her, “Nina, she’s hurt. She can’t hug you right now. Be good, and don’t touch her arm or leg.”
