Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 538

Chapter 538 Private Family Business

Lucille stammered. “You’re… You’re…”

Amelia smiled, “I’m Nina’s mother. We’ve spoken over voice chat before.”

She had only ever let her voice be heard before. Lucille had always thought her voice sounded familiar, yet she’d never placed where she’d heard it.

The second she saw Amelia’s face, it all clicked into place.

“Are you… Are you Amelia Parker?” Lucille asked breathlessly, brimming with excitement.

Amelia nodded gently. “You know me?”

“I really like you. I’m such a huge fan of yours!” Lucille’s cheeks flushed bright red with joy, her words tumbling out in a flustered rush. “I never thought I’d get to video chat with you like this.

“You’re so beautiful in person. Have you been tired from filming lately? I know you joined a new set-I’ve been keeping up with all the behind-the-scenes clips.”

Lucille gushed over Amelia freely, pouring out her admiration.

Nina overheard every word and pushed her chubby face right up to the screen, cutting in without hesitation, “Auntie Lucywee, Nina pwetty. Wuv Nina?”

She hated being left out and insisted on stealing the spotlight.

Lucille laughed softly at her round face and soothed her right away. “Of course, I do. I love Nina so much.”

Nina giggled happily, perfectly satisfied now that she’d gotten attention.

Nina’s sudden interruption calmed Lucille’s flustered nerves a little.

She took a steadying breath, finally able to speak without stuttering, “Amelia, would it be all right if I came to visit Nina tomorrow?”

Amelia smiled warmly, “Of course. Send me your arrival time, and I’ll come pick you up.”

Lucille waved her hands quickly in refusal, the second Amelia offered.

She said, “No, don’t go out of your way for me. I couldn’t impose like that.

“I already booked a hotel. I’ll drop my luggage off there first.

“Once I’m settled, just tell me where Nina is, and I’ll go find her myself.”

Lucille was very mindful of boundaries. As much as she adored Amelia and wanted to spend more time with her, she still politely turned down the offer, not wanting to be any trouble.

She insisted on heading to her hotel first. After they sorted out the timing together, Amelia suggested an easy plan. “Once you leave the hotel, you can head straight to Sunbeam Daycare to pick Nina up after school. She’ll be done with class right around then.”

“Okay.” Lucille agreed at once, beaming with delight.

That video call left Lucille over the moon with happiness.

As soon as she hung up, she messaged her best friend, Lynda Gaines.

She typed, “I’m literally the happiest person alive right now.”

Lynda replied instantly, “Aren’t you leaving tomorrow? Did you head out early today already?”

Lucille typed, “Nope, not yet.”

Lynda replied, “Then you haven’t even met your boyfriend yet-what’s there to be this happy about?”

Lucille messaged, “I just met my celebrity crush.”

She only said she’d gotten to meet her idol, keeping quiet about Amelia being Nina’s mom.

Amelia wasn’t a mainstream celebrity idol, nor did she ever pretend to be single for publicity.

Still, having a child was private family business, and Lucille knew better than to spill the secret.

She only mentioned she’d gotten a chance to meet Amelia in person.

Lynda was genuinely happy for her once she heard how thrilled Lucille was.

After chatting with Lynda, Lucille called Tanner on video.

The second she saw his face, she narrowed her eyes and called out softly, “Babe.”

Tanner smiled, “Why’re you in such a good mood all of a sudden?”

Lucille giggled playfully, keeping him in suspense. “I’m not telling you.”

Tanner raised an eyebrow. “Why not?”

Lucille shook her head firmly. “Just not gonna say.”

After insisting on keeping her secret, she couldn’t hold back her quiet worry any longer.

She asked, “Babe, do you think you won’t like me once we finally meet in person?”

flicker of insecurity lingered in her tone.

She knew she was only average-looking, nowhere near stunningly beautiful.

But Tanner was undeniably handsome.

Every girl in love couldn’t help overthinking little things like this.

Tanner’s playful smile faded the moment he heard her doubt herself.

He took off his plain non-prescription glasses, his deep eyes locking onto Lucille’s face with complete

He said, “Lucille, trust me. I’m truly fond of you.”

His tone was steady and earnest, his gaze unwavering.
