The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 170

Before Saul could speak, a colleague from the secretarial office who was close to Abbey spoke up.

"Miss Sanger, when Abbey found out about Mr. Sanger, she fainted right in the office. She's still in the hospital today."

Victoria's lips thinned. She looked at Saul.

Saul immediately understood what she wanted to ask. "Don't worry, Miss Sanger. Miss Prescott just couldn't handle the shock. There's nothing seriously wrong with her. She just needs some rest."

Victoria didn't know what had happened between Grady and Abbey.

But from what she had observed the last time she visited Grady at the company, she couldn't be sure if Grady liked Abbey, but she was certain that Abbey was different from others in his eyes.

Victoria thought that if her brother hadn't died, perhaps their relationship would have progressed further soon.

Mr. Flint stepped forward and whispered, "Miss Sanger, it's almost time."

After the condolences, the family was required to carry the urn to the outdoor cemetery for burial.

Victoria nodded, looked at the red-eyed guests, and bowed deeply. Then she turned and, with Mr. Flint, walked toward the urn on the altar.

Suddenly, a commotion arose.

Mr. Flint stopped and turned to look. Seeing who had arrived, he frowned, his unwelcoming expression clear. But out of courtesy, he called out to Victoria, who hadn't noticed the disturbance behind her.

"Miss Sanger."

Victoria turned around, puzzled, and saw the figure approaching.

It was Genevieve.

Genevieve was dressed in black, holding a large bouquet of white roses. The crisp sound of her high heels on the tile floor was exceptionally clear in the vast, silent memorial hall.

Saul's expression darkened, and he stepped forward to block Genevieve's path. "Miss Vale, you are not welcome here."

Under her black lace hat, Genevieve's delicate face was made up with light makeup, but she wore a striking red lipstick that was jarring against the black, almost looking triumphant.

She blinked innocently, her gaze passing over Saul to land on Victoria. "Victoria, I know there's a misunderstanding between us, and that's why you don't want to see me. But Grady once treated me like a little sister. I truly want to see him off..."

As she spoke, Genevieve's voice broke. "Victoria, I'm begging you, just let me see Grady one last time."

Her words were so earnest that the other guests couldn't help but turn their attention to Victoria.

Victoria's hands, hanging at her sides, slowly clenched as if she were trying her best to control her emotions.

After a long pause, she finally relented. "Flint, let her come."
