The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 75

Seeing Justin, Victoria stiffened slightly. The image of Elias forcing her to moan into the phone while Justin listened flashed through her mind.

Justin looked at Victoria, a flicker of admiration in his eyes.

She was wearing a floor-length silk gown today. The design was simple, but the waist was perfectly tailored, showcasing her exceptional figure. Paired with a light shawl, she looked both sexy and sophisticated.

Victoria noticed his gaze and cleared her throat softly.

Justin snapped back to reality and couldn't help but compliment her, "That dress really suits you."

"Thank you," Victoria replied, her tone distant as she deliberately put some space between them. "Everyone is waiting inside. I should go in."

"Alright."

Victoria let out a small sigh of relief and walked past him, the suffocating awkwardness finally easing.

But a moment later, Justin caught up to her, grabbing her wrist. "Wait."

Startled by his sudden move, Victoria instinctively pulled her hand back and retreated. Justin didn't miss her subconscious reaction and realized he must have scared her. He apologized, "I'm sorry, Victoria, I was just in a hurry..."

Victoria hid her hand behind her back. "Is there something else?"

"Last time..." Justin's gaze darkened slightly. He paused before saying, "You don't have to be so tense. I didn't hear anything last time."

An unnatural flush crept onto Victoria's face.

"Didn't hear anything..." But saying that clearly meant he had heard, he just wanted her to pretend it didn't happen.

The memories she had just managed to suppress came flooding back like a broken dam.

"Well, okay."

With that, she avoided his gaze and practically fled.

She ran into the restroom, her hands gripping the edge of the sink, her heart pounding uncontrollably.

"Don't think about it! Don't think about those things!"

Victoria tried to convince herself, but the more she tried, the more the images threatened to consume her. She looked up at her reflection in the mirror—her eyes were slightly red, filled with the helpless despair of someone humiliated and unable to fight back.

She raised a hand and pushed aside her shawl.

On her fair, delicate collarbone, a clear, red-rimmed bite mark was visible.

It was one of the 'brands' Elias had left on her.

Victoria closed her eyes, trying to quell the turmoil inside her. She had lied to Cerys, and she had lied to herself. There was no rebirth, no being okay. In reality, for the past two days, every time she closed her eyes, she saw herself being forced to stand before Elias like a toy, stripped of dignity, scrutinized, and shamed.

The little bit of self-respect she had fought so hard to protect had been utterly trampled.
