Letty slipped out of the executive assistants’ suite and grabbed Catherine’s arm, tugging her down the hall to her own office.

Inside, Letty closed the door behind them, glancing around like she was afraid someone might overhear. She dropped her voice to a whisper.

“Catherine, Adelina’s here. They’re at it again.”

She jerked her chin toward the wall they shared with the next office, as if that thin barrier could actually keep out the noise.

“Adelina’s crying. Again. Honestly, they fight every single day and she cries every single time. At least this round, she didn’t storm out like usual.”

Letty had been working in Cabinda long enough to see the drama between Lance and Adelina unfold more times than she could count. By now, she could practically predict the rhythm of their fights.

Catherine just shook her head. “Letty, seriously, stop gossiping and focus on your own work.”

Letty pouted like a child. “I’m not gossiping. They’re so loud everyone can hear them. My ears aren’t broken.”

She leaned in closer, dropping her voice even lower.

“But it’s not really a fight this time. Sounds more like Adelina came to apologize. Lance hasn’t said a single word. All she’s doing is sniffling and saying she never thought things would turn out like this.”

Letty didn’t catch every word, but from what she overheard, Adelina was definitely there to ask for forgiveness. Meanwhile, Lance just kept his distance, not even bothering to give her a response.

“Do you think Lance and Adelina’s wedding is going to be called off?” Letty asked, sounding genuinely curious. She figured it was totally possible. Lance was rich, good-looking, and charming. He could have anyone he wanted. Why would he put up with Adelina’s drama forever?

“That’s not for me to say, and you’re just guessing. Now get back to work.” Catherine gave her a little wave, shooing her away. “And don’t start spreading rumors, either.”

Letty had only transferred over from headquarters recently, and half the office kept asking her things about Lance and Adelina. Catherine shot her a warning look, just in case she was tempted to spill more.
