The Betrayed Princess Rising (Lylah and Ezra) novel Chapter 447

Chapter 447

3rd Person’s POV

The healer arrived shortly after.

By the time the examination ended, the apartment had fallen into heavy silence once more. Rowan remained nearby the entire time. Though distant, though unreadable, he still hadn’t cast Cora out.

Not yet.

The realization left an ache inside her chest she refused to name.

Cora lay half-asleep against the couch when the soft vibration of her phone disturbed the quiet.

Her lashes fluttered.

Unknown Number.

A faint crease formed between her brows before she opened the message.

The moment the images loaded, the little warmth left in her blood turned to ice.

Rowan.

Sleeping bare-chested in dark sheets, silver moonlight spilling across the powerful lines of his body.

Besides the photos came a message.

‘Your mate slept with me, Coraline.’

Cora’s fingers tightened violently around the phone.

Then another message appeared.

‘And no. I’m not Lylah.’

For several long seconds, she simply stared.

This happened before their mating ceremony…

A cold sickness twisted through Cora’s stomach.

Back then, she wouldn’t have cared. But things were different now. Now her position was unstable. Now every female wolf surrounding Rowan felt like a threat circling her Luna crown.

Her gaze slowly lifted toward the closed doors of Rowan’s study.

“So you betrayed me too fast,” she whispered bitterly. “You keep me only because you think there’s a baby. If you think you can throw me away and replace me with whoever this is…” Her eyes hardened with dangerous fury. “Then I’ll make sure that dream never comes true.”

Dawn spread across Lunera Valley beneath thick fog and towering pine forests.

The volunteers gathered near the convoy preparing to depart toward the isolated villages deeper within the valley.

Before turning off her phone, Lylah stepped away from the others to make one final call.

The moment Ezra answered, something warm stirred beneath her skin.

“My love,” Ezra murmured, his deep voice threaded with longing, “can I come pick you up already and bring you home?”

Lylah laughed quietly, warmth blooming in her chest. “Ezra, it’s only been three days.”

Three days.

To Ezra, it felt crueler than the years he had once spent searching for her after rebirth.

The absence of his mate hollowed him out in ways no battlefield ever had.

“But I miss you already,” he admitted with a tired sigh, the vulnerability in his voice something no one else in the world would ever hear. “If you get a break later… call me again. Hearing your voice is enough.”

Lylah’s expression softened instantly.

“Alright,” she whispered. “I’ll try.”

Then concern flickered through her. “Aren’t you supposed to be working right now? If I call too much, won’t I disturb you?”

Ezra huffed softly, almost amused.

“When has your voice ever disturbed me?”

Heat crept into her cheeks.

After promising to contact him again later, Lylah finally ended the call.

The moment the line disconnected, Ezra’s faint smile lingered.
