Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 483

“Madeline, I don’t feel so good… help me…”

Madeline tilted her head up and found his face so close she could see every detail. He was watching her, his eyes dark and unreadable. She hesitated, trying to figure out what he really meant by help me, but before she could say a word, he took her hand and guided it lower…

Her eyes flew open in shock.

Julian didn’t say anything. He just reached up to brush her hair, his fingers slipping gently through the strands. Then he pressed her head down and kissed her softly.

More than half an hour later, Madeline was finally allowed out of the bathroom. Her hair, which she had only just dried, was soaked all over again, dripping onto her shoulders.

Julian came out right after her. He had changed into a suit, looking every bit the cold and polished gentleman. No one would have guessed this was the same guy who had pinned her in the bathroom, asking her to pleasure him.

The suit wasn’t as expensive as what he usually wore, but he still looked perfect in it, sharp and put together.

Madeline shot him a look. In her mind, a thought popped up.

Such a poser.

She turned away, pretending not to care, and grabbed the hair dryer to start drying her hair again.

Julian watched her with a look that said he was trying not to laugh, like he could see she was seconds away from punching him.

He walked over and took the hair dryer from her hand.

“Don’t. I can do it myself.”

“Not tired after what just happened?”

Madeline glared at him and smacked his hand away.

Julian didn’t get upset. He just gently smoothed her hair and helped her dry it, taking his time. His voice finally turned serious.

“Stay here at the inn for a couple of days.”

Madeline frowned right away. “Why?”

He wasn’t planning on taking her back with him.

“I’ll come get you when I’ve sorted everything out, okay?”

“The view here’s nice, you can go for a walk, get some fresh air.” Julian tried to coax her, his voice soft.

“You don’t have to worry about the kids. They are with the Graysons, safe. And your company’s fine. Your best friend is there, and if she gets overwhelmed, I’ll send someone to help her out.”

Madeline listened silently, then asked, “This situation… it’s really serious for me, isn’t it?”
