Pampered By My Mr. Lawyer novel Chapter 344

Chapter 344 The Stupid Woman

As they drove home, the streetlights cast a warm glow on their path.

Madelyn leaned weakly against the seat, her cheeks flushed with a mix of excitement and guilt as they had an intimate encounter and ignored Everest momentarily.

Benjamin couldn't resist stealing glances at her, captivated by the beautiful flush on her face that only enhanced her allure.

Suddenly, a phone call interrupted their thoughts.

It was Kaleb.

He greeted and quickly got to the point, "Ben, Ms. Dylan has somehow discovered Kenneth's identity and is determined to meet him!"

Benjamin inquired, "What about Ken's opinion?"

Kaleb responded with a cunning smile, "Ken suggests that we quietly observe the situation. If we want to bring down the coal mine owners in the Southwest, we must gather sufficient evidence to demolish them."

Benjamin understood the underlying shrewdness behind Kaleb's words and agreed, "That's excellent! As for Everest, I'll have Madelyn bring him over tomorrow."

He ended the call, not bothering to mention Elizabeth as she was not worth mentioning.

Instead, he turned to Madelyn and shared, "Ken is truly eager to see Everest. And you'll take him to the hotel."

Madelyn softly nodded in agreement.

Benjamin stole a few more glances at her, then cleared his throat.

"Are you still angry?" he asked.

Madelyn felt a hint of unease and averted her gaze.

Benjamin reached out and tenderly clasped her hand, his touch offering comfort.

"Madelyn, was your positive attitude spurred by the red wine or being in that apartment?" he inquired.

A blush crept up Madelyn's cheeks.

Benjamin let out a soft chuckle.

He realized that his feelings for her had deepened beyond what he had even expected.

...

Elizabeth finally managed to establish contact with Mr. Ryan in Vadiff.

She anxiously pleaded with Mr. Ryan's secretary, "Kaleb, please inquire if Mr. Ryan has any availability to meet me?"

Kaleb replied, "Kenneth has a private schedule today and is unfortunately unavailable."

Elizabeth summoned her courage, relying on her youthful looks and seductive figure.

Leaning closer to Kaleb, she pleaded again meaningfully.

And he just casually draped his arm around her and replied, "How about I bring you inside later and you can personally appeal to Mr. Ryan?"

Elizabeth gratefully nodded.

They arrived at the door of a luxurious suite, guarded by four imposing, black-clad bodyguards.

Elizabeth's mind buzzed with anticipation. If she could establish a connection with Mr. Ryan, the resources and opportunities she could gain for her husband would be limitless. It would pave the way for her own successful career as well.

Kaleb opened the door, revealing a spacious and tranquil suite.

On the carpet, a man and a child were engrossed in building blocks, creating an adorable scene.

The man, in his forties, exuded an air of refinement and handsomeness. His expression was surprisingly gentle, contrary to the rumors of his ruthlessness.

The child, around four years old, had fair skin and delicate features. There was something strangely familiar about him.

Kaleb leaned closer to Mr. Ryan and uttered, "Mr. Ryan, Ms. Dylan is here to request a favor."

Kenneth didn't raise his head, "Didn't I already mention that I'm not receiving any guests today?"

Kaleb felt a pang of embarrassment, while Elizabeth hurriedly interjected, "Mr. Ryan, I understand your busy schedule. I'm here on behalf of my husband's concerns, and I won't let your help go in vain..."

Finally, Kenneth looked up her.

He studied the woman before him, her appearance seemingly respectable, but a glimmer of calculation flickering in her face.

Regardless of others, this woman dared to act against Madelyn.

He wouldn't let her get away with it.

Kenneth, gracefully settling onto the sofa, smiled but said nothing.

Elizabeth was stiffened and embarrassed.

Just then, little Emerson, with a face filled with disappointment, voiced his grievances. "Great-uncle Kenneth, are you not going to play with me anymore?"

Kenneth was momentarily taken aback. Hadn't this child just called him "dad" a moment ago?

He quickly squatted down, displaying immense patience towards the child.

Elizabeth, sensing an opportunity, reached into her purse and retrieved a thick stack of bills.

She carefully placed them into a red envelope and handed it to Emerson.

Growing up in poverty, little Emerson looked up at Kenneth with hopeful eyes. "Great-uncle Kenneth, can I buy lots of milk tea with this?"
