Rise from Ashes: Her Epic Comeback novel Chapter 1

It was as dark as ink outside.

A heart-breaking cry echoed from the warehouse in the backyard of Sanders Manor.

Flavia Sanders was as pale as a ghost, her lips drained of all color. Her swollen belly was contracting in waves as deep red blood gushed from between her legs. She was eight months pregnant, but it felt like she was going into labor...

Did that mean she was going to give birth prematurely? Everyone knew the risks an eight months premature baby could face...

With that thought, she didn't waste any more time. She gathered all her strength to crawl to the door and started banging on it.

"Mr. Stanley, I think I'm having the baby. Please, get me to the hospital, I beg you...."

Outside, a man in his forties was smoking. Hearing Flavia's pleas, he coldly replied, "Miss, you're carrying a child whose father we don't even know. Why would Mr. and Mrs. Sanders want to take you to the hospital? Just stay put and don't make a fuss!"

Tears streamed uncontrollably down Flavia's face. Eight months ago, she was caught in a scandalous photo by the paparazzi and became the laughingstock of the whole town!

Soon after, she found out she was pregnant. Her father was ashamed and forced her to get an abortion. But at the last second of the abortion procedure, she sprung from the operating table and fled. She would have rather died than lose her child.

So, her father had her locked up in this tiny room to fend for herself.

She had been trapped here for eight solid months, and hadn't stepped foot outside the room since.

"Mr. Stanley. Please, save my baby. There's a life at stake here...."

"Mr. Stanley, please...."

With each wave of excruciating pain, Flavia's voice grew weaker. The man at the door ignored her. He was laidback, puffing away at his cigarettes.

Blood kept pouring out of Flavia. Her clothes soaked in it while her body immersed in a pool of blood. She clutched the doorknob in desperation and rammed against the door like a madwoman. She couldn't let her baby die inside her. She just couldn't!

"Have you lost your mind? What are you doing?"

Disturbed by the ruckus, Mr. Stanley angrily swung open the door. He ignored the blood all over the floor and grabbed Flavia by the hair. He was ready to drag her back into the room.

Just then—

"What's going on?"

A cold voice shouted out. Mr. Stanley immediately let go of Flavia, turned around and greeted respectfully, "Miss."

Flavia looked up to see who had entered the warehouse. It was her sister, Mellisa Sanders. They grew up together and were very close.

Flavia felt a glimmer of hope when she saw her sister. "Mel, help me, save my baby...."
