Flavia was in excruciating pain, inhaling sharply. She looked down at herself, lifting her blood-soaked dress to reveal two babies.
The twins were covered in blood, their tiny fists clenched, and crying out in pain.
They were her children. Twins.
Flavia hadn't even had a chance to feel joy yet.
The babies suddenly stopped crying, their little faces turning blue.
"Babies, don't be scared. Mommy’s here...."
Her heart clenched in worry. As she crawled over to hold them, a foot suddenly came over and stepped on her hand forcefully.
"Flavia, you're incredible. You popped out twins."
Mellisa gazed coldly towards the babies.
"But, these two seem short-lived. They didn’t last more than a few seconds."
"Don't talk nonsense! My children aren't dead!"
Flavia's heart tore apart. She reached out to touch her babies, softly stroking their faces and gently patting their bottoms. But before she could touch their soft bodies, a maid came in and brutally picked up the two babies from the floor.
"Miss, how should we deal with these deceased infants?"
Mellisa didn't care whether the infants lived or died. If they were really dead, Flavia's sorrow would bring her more joy. Of course, if the babies were alive, it wouldn't matter, because Flavia would live a life of humiliation raising two children with an unknown paternity.
Mellisa's gaze fell on the babies. And then she froze.
The twins were almost identical. Due to malnutrition in the womb, they were born as thin as a rake, with sharp features and visible bone structure.
Their faces reminded her of a big shot in Sandy Shores, Jasper Brumfield.
She remembered the day after Flavia's incident. The Brumfield family searched for a woman city-wide.
Could it be that Flavia's one night stand was with Jasper?
Holy shit...
Mellisa's eyes widened in surprise. She was speechless.
"Mel, we're sisters. Please, take the babies to the hospital. They're not dead, they're still alive... the doctors can save them!" Flavia clung to Mellisa's skirt, pleading desperately. "I'll give you anything you want, shares of the family business, the Sanders family inheritance, I don't want any of it. Mel, just save my babies...."
Mellisa snapped out of it and kicked Flavia away. She heartlessly said, "The babies are dead. It's no use taking them to the hospital. Someone, take the babies away and bury them somewhere."
