Rise from Ashes: Her Epic Comeback novel Chapter 4

Four years later.

A man all dolled up, pounced on her, forcing her beneath him.-

Her clothes were ripped apart; he violated every inch of her skin. She was too powerless to fight back...

She wanted to see his face clearly, but her vision was blurred and his face hazy. All she could see were his eyes. Those sharp and hawk-like eyes, devoid of any emotional fluctuations even during such an intimate act...

The gaze from those eyes terrified Flavia.

Her heart skipped a beat, then she jolted awake.

"Mum, were you having a nightmare?"

A gentle voice sounded by her ear. Flavia realized she had just dreamed about that dreadful event, on a plane of all places. A dream about the events that occurred five years ago on the night of her 18th birthday, when she was set up by Mellisa...

Years had passed and she had long let go of that past. She didn't know why she would dream of that man.

Feeling slightly embarrassed as she looked into her son's bright eyes, she said, "It's nothing, Mum's just a bit tired from the flight."

Louis Sanders poured her a cup of warm water, "Mum, a sip of water will make you feel better."

Then, he placed a soft cushion behind Flavia's back, "This should make you more comfortable."

Flavia was touched and she kissed her son's forehead, "Louis, having you and your sister is the greatest blessing in Mum's life."

She looked at the little girl sleeping peacefully on the other side, a satisfied smile on her face.

Four years ago, she had managed to escape from a fire. She found some hope for survival. That year, she had given birth prematurely. Her life was hanging by a thread and the hospital had sent out critical condition notices several times.

Louis was in a slightly better condition. He was saved, but the doctors had given up on Luna. She felt helpless and took her kids abroad for treatment. Later on, Luna's life was saved, but she...

Just then, the little girl opened her eyes. Her eyes were beautiful, pitch black and bright, like sparkling grapes or stars in the night sky. But upon closer inspection, those beautiful eyes were devoid of any spark.

Flavia swallowed her regret and sadness, and gently laughed, "Luna, you're awake. Do you want some milk or water?"

However, there was no response. The little girl just stared blankly at the clouds outside the airplane window, her expression cold and distant.

Flavia tightened her lips.

Luna's autism was getting worse. That was one of the reasons why she had abruptly decided to return to her home country.

"Luna, drink this milk. Don't spill it on your clothes."

Louis handed Luna the milk, and patiently taught her how to drink it. She showed no response, but he kept talking to her.

Flavia gently patted her son's head.
