The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 235

Cordelia watched as Ronan swaggered off, muttering jerk under her breath. He'd always been a crafty one, taking what he wanted without a second thought.

Cordelia was exhausted. She sat in the karaoke bar for a while, listening to soothing music, before hailing a cab home.

As she sat in the taxi, Cordelia couldn't help but replay the memory of her mother's fatal fall from a building. The sight of Ronan always stirred up a fury within her.

Cordelia booked a luxury suite in a five-star hotel she found online, but she vowed to never get involved with Ronan again. If Ronan wanted to sleep with her, she might as well have played him for a fool. As for the business deal, she figured it was entirely up to Ronan. If he wanted to give it to her, she would get it; if not, even sleeping with him wouldn’t help.

She sent a message to Ronan. [Tomorrow at 6 PM, Hilton Hotel, Room 4059.]

His response was simple. [Okay.]

On Cordelia's phone, Ronan was still saved under the name "June." Whenever she saw "June," her mind would wander back to their sweet past moments. But she knew she shouldn't get lost in the past. So, she changed Ronan's contact name to “Mr. Evans, Lumos Enterprises," a strictly professional title that implied a work relationship.

Ronan, on the other hand, felt a pang of sadness. She used to have sex with him because he liked it, and now she was doing it for the deal. How ironic!

Cordelia sent another message to Deanna. [Tomorrow at 6 PM, Hilton Hotel, Room 4059. Ronan is waiting for you. Don't blame me if you miss out.]

She suspected that this trick would probably cost her the deal with Ronan. She had prepared herself for the worst, but at least she still had the twenty million he had given her.

But the thought of her twins' future education, buying a house made Cordelia feel anxious.

Deanna was surprised when she received Cordelia's message, thinking, “Could it be a trap laid by Cordelia?” She and Cordelia were never friends.

She even sent a message to Ronan. [Ronan, what are you doing tomorrow at 6 PM?]
