The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 342

Tristi came to visit Cordelia the next day, persistently apologizing, blaming herself for not staying at home.

Cordelia comforted Tristi with a laugh. "You can't foresee the future, how would you know that would happen? I couldn't either."

"This is my old songbook, I brought it yesterday and kept it in the car," Tristi said.

Tristi had actually come the previous day, but Cordelia was too weak and slept the whole time. She hadn't planned to give Cordelia the songbook; after all, Cordelia had just given birth, and Tristi didn't think she'd be in the mood for it. She had brought her skincare products and homemade chicken soup, but Ronan suggested that the songbook could help distract Cordelia from her current condition.

Gossip was always a good topic of conversation.

Looking at others' gossip didn't hurt any feelings.

"Is this Alana?" Cordelia looked at the yellowing stickers in Tristi's songbook. Even though they were old, it was still evident that Alana was indeed a beauty in her time.

Seeing Cordelia engrossed in gossip rather than wallowing in her own sorrow, Ronan felt a temporary relief.

"She was a beauty back then. One of the most beautiful," Tristi reminisced about Alana with a tone of admiration. “She’s a Capricorn. Her father was a scholar who later moved the family abroad. They were old money, rich from generations back. Growing up in such a family meant that naturally, her demeanor was exceptional."

Cordelia chuckled, surprised that Tristi knew about old money. If this happened in today’s age, Tristi would be considered a superfan.

"Back then, Alana had a partner named August, they were a handsome and beautiful pair." Tristi's eyes shone when speaking of her idols.

Cordelia studied the old beauty closely.

"She has a small mole behind her ear," Cordelia pointed out, looking at a side profile picture of Alana.

"Yes, she does," Tristi confirmed.

After a while, Cordelia became tired, and Tristi left.

Ever since giving birth, Cordelia had been physically weak. Doctors came daily to check on her. But she was young and was slowly recovering.

During these days, Ronan had been to the company three times, each time rushing in and out.

Everyone at the company knew that Cordelia had given birth, and Mr. Evans was a father now.

But each time Mr. Evans came to the company, he didn't have a smile on his face.

Emerson asked about the babies' condition, and Ronan told him the truth.

"Have you told Cordelia yet?" Emerson asked, his brows furrowed.
